EU+US Set bonuses removed - T3 becoming worthless?

So new Legion patch notes say the following;

• Set bonuses for item sets from expansions prior to Warlords of Draenor have been deactivated, though the text describing their former function still remains.

So T3, with usually fewer stats than T1/T2 or AQ40 gear, will also have their item sets removed, making it only useful for show-off and transmo purposes.

So uhm, are we going to complain or something?

100% guarantee this was done by the "you think you want it but you don't" cuntscab. Blizz is doing everything they can to ensure that everyone not only purchases Legion but plays it to the new max Level because why play anything in their game if it isn't max Level amiright. Deactivating all old Set Bonuses is a clear slap in the face to anyone who plays older Content, whether it be for Twinking or otherwise.

They seem to intentionially ruining the leveling experience and stop you from playing at lower levels. It's ridiculous.

Also Id imagine t3 would probably have certain pieces that are BiS on certain classes, as it will sill retain its' high ilvl in comparison to other gears available

Chest piece, especially, as it's a higher ilv

This has probably been done so every expansion they dont have to re adjust set bonuses due to spells changing

Instead on constantly going back and changing every single Set Bonus, they are just washing them.

It makes sense, its old content, some abilities these set bonuses affect dont even exist anymore (I remember for the longest time 2p t3 Pally bonus increased Judgement of Light, which was removed). This also removes the possibility of these old bonuses breaking things, like Druid T3 NS bug, or Pally T3 No-CD LoH. Its a good and healthy change.

If they create %-based bonuses (that do not apply above 60) they literally don't have to change anything unless they remove the ability it's connected too.

Besides there are more sets than just Tier 3, don't get stuck @ 60. Cataclysm has some of the funnest Tier bonuses that I use for Timewalking, they'll be removed for no real reason as they were never changed. Besides updating ~200 sets isn't that much work.

You cant be naked, because then you have lower iLvl (aka 0 if naked) meaning you lose PvP Template value.

The Scaling system is still in place, meaning you could be in grays and have the same iLvl, but not having an item means the item never scales to the max of a bracket, meaning you lose average ilvl.

Granted this information is only based on how they explained how max lvl PvP will work, but nothing should change.

And I should clarify, or reiterate, once 7.0 hits (Legion pre-patch) Battlegrounds will all have the new Template mechanic. You can enter any BG NAKED and it makes no difference (other than needing a Weapon to use Abilities), you will still have the same iLvL/Stat layout as someone wearing full Looms. The Heirloom scaling at x9 is only the rough iLvL Blizz is giving that Bracket, for ALL Players. It's only those who exceed that arbitrary iLvL that will see an advantage.
