Back on topic...apparently Blizz changed something (sometime in the last couple of years?) with the timing of when projectile spells hit, so now it's possible to launch a lava burst, then immediately flame shock a target before the lava burst hits, and get the guaranteed crit. Dunno when that changed, but that's a nice stealth buff to help hide an opening salvo.

Pretty damn sure that does not work. Are you sure it wasnt just an actual crit?

I've been doing this my self, haven't had one not crit yet. Pathing on the Lava Burst vs dot instant apply.

Right? It hasn't worked that way for YEARS. But it's working now in both PvP and PvE. Several in a row just to be sure.

I’ve noticed that too...If I cast Lava and immediately as the cast time ends hit Flame Shock, both will hit at about the same time and Lava will crit. Pretty helpful for some burst while avoiding an extra GCD.
