Rogue Daggers.

u do the most damage as a rogue in combat with two swords thats prety much it, daggers are viable in sub for many reasons and by all means play them but you will still put our more damage and be less energy starved if you use swords (white swings are free)

you're more worried about being energy starved than you are having more burst damage? in this bracket as a rogue with healers running around stuff either dies in two seconds or it doesn't, and then you're dead. you have a much better chance of living and killing a target getting a re-stealth and try to synchronize with somebody else for another strong opener than you do sitting on them doing very underwhelming sustained white damage with sinister strikes...

Even though rogues are all about burst./QUOTE]
rofl ,rogues there for sap, gouge and kick mainly and not damage...
did you learn how to sap and where to be on the field?you became a fucking master...

Is this Engrish?

You do realize you can sap, gouge and kick with a dagger equipped right? I didn't understand the rest of that sentence you attempted, sorry.

Who knows if dual SF is better, I think the big deal is that people value obtaining shadowfangs more than they value obtaining skill.

white swings crit for 220 every time u swing it, back stab hits for like 260 crit so i dont see how its more burst with a dagger when your white swings + sinster strike = more damage / burst than a back stab, its true that you will either get the kill or die or restealth but theres still more burst with sfangs due to white swing after an ambush, and if youre opening with a sword then swapping to a dagger then youre losing burst, if you open with a dagger youre losing burst, so aanyway you look at it youre losing burst with a dagger

I was thinking about rolling a 19 rogue, but I'm not the most knowledgeable on the subject. I did a quick and dirty chardev with bis gear all around and swapped Shadowfang for the heirloom mace, and the Shadowfang just barely beats the mace. You get a bit more health from going 2x mace and slightly more crit, but with 2x Shadowfang you get marginally higher top end damage and a few more points of attack power.

I was originally turned off to the idea of making a 19 rogue because of the scarcity and price of Shadowfang, but after looking at 2x heirloom maces in comparison, the difference is negligible. Skill definitely comes into play here, as a good rogue with 2x maces is going to outperform an average rogue with Shadowfangs.

If I researched correctly, I'd say that the maces are a good alternative to Shadowfangs if you can't get them, but Shadowfangs are going to be for true best in slot, or for those who absolutely can't live with themselves without being best in slot all around.

Ah, but what happens if those slow things happen to miss after the ambush? Where has the burst gone? I wonder...

im not sure how high the main hand hit cap is b ut im sure that a geared rogue is reasonably close.
daggers are better in certain situations but a lot of the time , and you can be the one to judge(you should be able to distinguish when), two fangs will be more effective

They're basically the same weapon.

I think he meant if waylay didn't apply off the ambush (since it only has a 50% chance)... Having waylay up all the time kind of kicks ass since most of the time peoples cc is less the adequate.

As for the more burst, it mostly comes from the increased ambush damage combined with Sinister Calling which provides a 40% increased damage bonus from backstab.

sure if u aint got a hunter around applying waylay can be good but id rather spam sap till someone else can catch up who can apply a more reliable/consistent slow

People are forgetting. Rogues with a dagger mainhaind = unviable.

When played correctly (thistle tea, energy conservation, placement of attacks etc) dagger main hand rogues are simply filthy. Beastly, I think we're trying to teach Rice Krispie Treats how to be S'mores here.

YA. WHAT HE SAID.

Aye, with thistle tea burst potential is insane. People don't abuse thistle tea enough :D

Sure Sfang is BiS , and BoA maces /Sword after that , but isn't the main deal to know when to swap weapons & adapting to the playing field/ your group?
I'd say if you like the "dagger" playstyle stick to it, 1 vs 1 it's still about skill ,on the playing field there are things like luck involved also.
