Interesting. About the wand thing. Is that just because "wands", or is it simply because you will be able to have stratholme lily offhand? Currently, I am running a sword mainhand and stratholme lily offhand on my mage. Would it change anything if I got a wand instead?

Logically, the wand and sword should be the same...but for some reason, equipping a wand will give a stat boost over a sword/mace/dagger (both assuming lily offhand). So something is weird with wands. Someone posted that a wand was giving the same stats as a staff - but I'm not sure if thats true or relevant. Regardless, pick up one of those cheap wands, equip it in a BG, and see if your stats change. My lock has 4k hp now...

securing the lines.....quest can be done by either faction

in BGs watch your stats
- a wand = a staff
- a staff = a MH weapon and OH
- a wand and OH = 3 items

just in a BG, did some testing in outlaw spec, i looked at ambush tooltip and damage numbers on weapon change out.

481 dmg BOA 1.8 dagger
625 dmg Jagged Wing Slasher 2.6 dagger
749 dmg BOA 2.8 sword

none of the weapons swaps affected stats

i went and got http://www.wowhead.com/item=18957 went into BG on ally rogue (avg item level 28), looking at ambush tooltip on swap outs

BOA 2.8 sword
767 dmg 170-171..............................................

- simple +6 agi scroll of agility added +30 damage
- sharpening stones show no change, use them any way
- wizard oils work for casters in 19 bracket on weapons
- mana oils on each weapon work for melee in 20+ brackets add verstatility, in and out of BGs
