EU+US Reminder to get 525 fishing before BfA.

Quick update regarding fishing raft.

I just hit 525 fishing on live game (7.3.5), went to a trainer and learned zen fishing so I am now at 525/600. Copied that toon onto the beta and I have access to the fishing raft now.
 
Thanks for all the help: I now have my first 19 mage with Bipsi's berg, with more mages in the works. So cool (Although, the animation on some races is buggy). I was also gonna buy the Dragon Pole, but RNG: Fishing daily gave me a Jeweled Pole, just before I headed back to Krasarang for the berg.

Now, as I understand it, while you need certain levels now to use the items, those aren't necessarily the levels needed after BFA. So, 525 is enough for the raft now, but in BFA to be MOP(1), you need more than that?

Similarly, the Boots of the Bay now require level 200, but in BFA will need NR(1), which means 350 or 375 now?

Doesnt matter if its 350 or 375 or 450 or 425 aslong as its 350/450 or 375/450 or 450/525 or 425/525. Its that you have the upgrade that matters.

So to clarify, 525/600 will be fine come bfa?
 
Pretty sure 500 fishing skill to learn Zen Fishing (MOP FISHING) will grant you 1/XX mop come pre patch. But to be safe just level up the extra 25 skill levels.

1-300 is 1-300 classic
300-375 is 1-75 outlands
375-450 is 1-75 Northrend
450-525 is 1-75 Cata
525-600 is 1-75 pandaland
600-700 is 1-?? WoD
700-800 is 1-?? legion

It doesn't transfer perfectly like that. In live, if you have 445 fishing you can "train" cataclysm fishing and increase your cap up to 525. I think if transferred, that would be 70/75 northrend and 1/75 cata. I dunno if you stop at 525/525 if you have 1/75 panda or no panda. So train as much as you can. On the beta at least, you can still level this stuff - its just a bit more targeted (you have to fish in northrend to raise northrend fishing).

Get your anglers rep up through the commendations that you can buy for timewarped badges (and also the weekly rep for running a random dungeon with anglers favorited).

Correct. IIRC Though Im fairly certain you have to learn ZEN fishing in order to have Mop 1/50. Getting to 525 will only max you from Cata and before. Leaving you not learning MoP 1/75 and thus having a level requirement to train it.

See, this is where my confusion is. The fishing trainer will at 350, let me do Illustrious Grand Master, or w/e. I had assumed this was enough for NR, but then I heard it must be 375.

You can still level fishing after the patch? I thought 'gating' would lock you out? I would really love to do something other than fish old Dal sewers these last few days before the patch and its fishing change. I have about a dozen chars that need fishing raised, for Bipsi and/or Boots of the Bay.

If you have the area unlocked, you can level it. So if you have 1/75 northrend fishing, you can fish in northrend and raise it.

I don't know if you can train northrend fishing if you don't have it. I think you can, but I don't know 100%.
 
reminder that apparently you need 600 fishing now so i'd be safe and get it
