I remember my Eluding rings, and 74% dodge at level 19.
I remember charging players on my realm 100g to Ironman in the level 10-19 bracket. (Yes, i did this. I made over 2k right after achievs came out), and that was a lot if you were around then)
I remember if you had a title, you EARNED it. Not just a special title, and title took skill to earn.
I remember buying my first Shadowfang for 250g. Although it was BiS, i was worried about spending that much at the time.
I remember the time before achievs came out, and the sole purpose of twinking was having fun. With the ones that had been there the longest sporting their battlestandards.

no one gave a shit about being 100% BiS because it was getting the most gear possible without lvling
