[Question/Debate] The current situation in Syria.

I would like to start off by saying first of all, I do not know if this thread Is allowed here but I am going to post it anyway if this is against any sort of CoC please feel free to lock it.

As many of you may know there is currently a civil war going down in Syria, no countries had talked about any immediate intervention until there was a chemical weapon attack last week, the UK and the US are having talks to launch attacks on Syria to try and eliminate any further attacks from Assad, however Russia and China are Allied with Syria, and if the UK or the US or even both of them attacked Syria what do you think will happen?

Hopefully nothing happens, everyone in the world suddenly realize "Hey, this war shit is really stoopid :0" and we will live in world peace forever!

War incomming. Cameron called in the parlament from their vacation, france saying that a chemical attack can't be ignored, Obama talking about a 'quick attack' etc.

So, to me, it sounds like it is military action is definitely in the works unless Assad steps aside (which we all know will never happen).

An intervention might not always be great, just look at Afganistan for instance.

Bit extreme about all the Arab countries as right now the only countries that are siding with Syria are Russia and China, I am not to sure if they would intervene if there was an intervention due to the sheer scale of countries that would back up the US / UK if there was an intervention.

I made this thread and I am yet to voice what I think is going to happen.

Well what do I think will happen? I think this is one step closer to another world war, not what is needed in this day and age but its going to happen if things carry on like they are, Russia and China are 2 very powerful Nations, they have also said that they would not let something like a strike on Syria go unseen, this meaning an attack on Syria which I think is going to happen within the next 10 - 14 days if that will trigger a counter attack from one of Syria's Allies whether it be Russia, China or someone else some form of retaliation will happen, what Assad did cannot go unseen however the situation should have been intervened before it got this far out of control, someone is going to have to act if it is going to be either the UK or the US, I just hope it does not trigger something as large a scale as a world war, that is the last thing we need in this day and age.

Apparently the use of Chemical weapons was undeniable, according to a lot of sources, Assad also prevented the UN from inspecting the site for many days after the attack.

China and Russia will, as well as the Assad regime, probably deny the usage of chemical weapons by Assad. This however won't stop US, FR, EN, Turkey and the Arab countries from entering Syria.

I don't think the US should intervene. Let the UN do it's job, the US really needs to stop trying to police the world.

I hope the UN will make the decision to intervene, even though they are not able to prove that it was Asaad that used the chemical weapons, cause those weapons are only one of the horrible things going on in Syria... I doubt they will though

I honestly think it will happen and I hope intervention happens what is going on there is an absolute disgrace to humanity.

Well I certainly don't want a WW3, that would just be terrible for all parties involved. And I also don't want the US or anyone else to coordinate any type of missile attacks on Syria because many innocent lives would be lost and there's no need for anyone else to die in my mind. Hopefully Asad surrenders and this ends peacefully...
