Pros/Cons of Horde vs. Alliance

cons: lose every single pug game that you're not group queuing for or have a preponderance of 24s on your team, have significantly inferior gear

I wouldn't say every game. But yes it's more of an uphill battle and there are much fewer of those NOGEARLOLOL wins.

However the shorter queues (3 min or less) are enough for me to be shelving my priest, its nice to log on and play some games instead of logging on and waiting.

Goblin Surveyors are cheap, I'll never use one. For every horde with a surveyor I grant every alliance an extra eye patch for their trinket slot.

Mad because hes probably been killed by a 200 HP surveyor.

I would never use the Goblin surveyor on my horde because the damn thing almost killed me during the quest. I was happy to turn it in. Figured if it kept aggroing everything during the quest it would be sure to doom me during bgs.

You can tell Griimm doesn't actually play Horde much. Those hunters have 700-900 HP because betting 1400 HP as a Horde hunter is near impossible without BiS gear.

Real differences are in races, Alliance has movement impairing effects escapes, shadowmeld (stealth), gift of naaru (healing) and moving speed increase. Horde has spell /healing power increasing blood fury, AOE stun, + 20% attack speed, charm/fear/sleep effect removal, silence and rocket jump. Overall, I would have to go with horde on active "spells". Passives are mostly weapon specific, profession bonuses, resistances and troll blood and other kinds of little buffs. Gear isn't that faction specific. Both factions get good gear on f2p since most of best gear is in inctances. But horde loses PVP battles more often. (probably because of numbers.)

Odd you would say that, Its pretty far off the mark of both what I wrote and intended.

Did I upset you in a previous post perhaps? Sorry if I did.

Note f2ps cannot be worgen or goblins yeah?

I play both sides and notice distinct factors in each. The problem I see is that the quicker queue times of the horde attract players who put less emphasis into their characters gear before starting to pvp than the alliance. Hunters for example result in an average HP of around 700 in the horde and usually double that of 1400 for alliance hunters.

You sure now?

Alliance hunters put more emphasis into their gear before they step foot into battlegrounds, grabbing eyepatch and other dungeon/ quest blues. They rarely have any open slots and have close to the HP I explained before. Horde hunters do not have the same gear options. Most have at least the head slot open and do not wait until ideal gear before they start pugging. Therefore, the alliance in general put more emphasis on getting the better gear offered to their faction before they start to pvp when compared to the horde.

This is pretty much the same thing I wrote earlier, but perhaps this will make more sense.

I think it depends more on the person than the faction. I, personally, regardless of whether I was horde or alliance, would acquire the best possible gear before ever stepping foot in BGs. And I've seen quite a few 800-ish HP alliance hunters as well as some 500-ish HP alliance players in BGs.

Oh I agree entirely. I did the same on both mine as well and assume most the TI community would do pretty close to the same. I just notice in pugs that my horde teammates are much less geared than when I would play alliance as a general rule. There will always be exceptions, however.

It probably has to do with the fact that alliance gear is mostly comprised of easy dungeon quests, and boss drops that can be acquired in about 12 hours /played. Horde gear is comprised not only of boss drops, dungeon quests, LONG quest chains, and the RNG fishing hat, it also takes about double the amount of time to gear a horde toon, then you have to be lucky enough to catch hat. Also, just a theory, but horde puggers lose so much, they probably think there's nothing they can do about it and simply accept defeat.

Horde's instant queue times makes BGs feel disposable. You can lose your way to BOAs faster as horde than you can by winning as alliance, which is probably a factor in the gear apathy you're talking about. Why bother gearing up when you're likely going to lose anyway and the next game is less than a minute away?

OR reroll ally and make the problem worse.
