Policy Update for Input Broadcasting Software - Multiboxing Official Warning

Better hurry, if multiboxing was such a drain on the token system then soon the gold-per-token ratio should crash!!

This is a garbage change tbh. U know why it happened? Cause they introduced the garbage system called personal loot.

Interesting, they decided to outright ban multiboxing using alternative software, didn't think they would but with all the stuff about it I didn't count it fully out of their decisions. It always felt kinda iffy using 3rd party software, so I never did(didnt have the accounts for more than 2 or 3 anyways heh didn't seem worth the money), but dang this will be an interesting change indeed.

Maybe this will be a case where I shouldve used 3rd party software and went on the multiboxer train early like the garrison stuff? So if i have a second account running will I get mistaken for using 3rd party stuff then get banned even if im just alt tabbing? What if I i come up with a unique loop hole to still press keybinds physically on multiple accounts, like perhaps using multiple computers(or vms) at the same time with different accounts?

I don't mind losing multi boxing that much since I didn't use it for too much, and I understand why they might not want this input relaying anymore with the extreme tons of accounts multi boxing. Still its kinda sad and weird for one less game to remove part of support for multi boxing, especially after so much time. It did have uses too, like party syncing for chromie time and bgs, and bypassing that darn lvl 50 restriction for premade finder to find groups for things like world bosses. I guess we will see what happens as this goes further in time.

The use of input broadcasting software that mirrors keystrokes to multiple WoW game clients will soon be considered an actionable offense. We will soon begin issuing warnings to all players who are detected using input broadcasting software to mirror commands to multiple accounts at the same time (often used for multi-boxing).

to me, this sounds like it might be possible to still use program to command multiple windows as long as each and every command you press only goes to 1 unique window... so the program(hkn/isb) would be still to be able to allow the use of 1 keyboard and no alt tabbing to control multiple toons? obviously this is trying to find a loophole in the wording....

it will take some time before they will have another blue post clarifying the specific rules.

personally i havent used hotkeynet in a few weeks probably longer.. though i havent been doing much vet/10 stuff. ive been moving away from having active accounts that are only for muiltiboxing for a while since it is only worth if you do weird and unique to the player pay to win stuff these days, or mindlessly mouse macro farm to vendor greys or bfa greens+compete with chinese/south american botters in boe mount markets... etc...

I for sure mean it won't be clearing up the people who have been multiboxing 40+ accounts for years. those people will continue. Albeit a tad differently than yesterday.
[doublepost=1604459007,1604457730][/doublepost]Due to multibox ban there should be a downtick in multibox activity.

Crafting materials might see an uptick in gold price as the amount on the market drops.
If you are aware you're on an active multibox server on classic or retail. This might be the time for you to buy cheap crafting materials on the AH.

My go to assumptions are Khorium Ore and Titanium Ore are going to see a huge price hike. As they are rarer than most mining materials.

Speculation is all we have but this is the time to start brain farming possible outcomes of the Multibox ban.

Edit: other thread was more specific to gold farming. I copy pasted it over to continue the convo on the multibox thread cause i suppose the mod wanted it here.

i wonder if they have automatic detection for mirroring commands. or they rely on other player reports. if its not automated, means just dont use the software in open world. in dungeons or raids with your own accounts will be fine

That's kinda my impression. If they nerf the pillars of creation gear I'll probably 5 man it through the TBC dungeons but otherwise I'll keep the open world boxing to a minimum.

Multiboxing isn’t profitable for blizzard because the risk it poses now due to chromie time far outweighs the wow token profit they make.
Chromie time needs to be removed from the Game and the person responsible for it's design fired. All they had to do was add those Quests to the War board and done.

not too up to speed, but id assume chromie time's some kind of phasing, yes?

Chromie time is a great idea and a wonderful way to keep obsolete content alive, even though its doesnt make sense at low level twinking. Its great for levelers. It just also opened the door for abuse from multiboxers and now theyre shutting that door a bit.

From the Observations of a BC baby,Lich twink baby, BC exploiter baby.
I don't have intel on the inner Blizzard/Activision workings of this matter. I am just a player like you.

:::Tinfoil hat warning:::
**The new shop items are to counter multibox revenue lose**

The straw that broke the back of multiboxing (IMHO): Druids farming imps in Val'sharah, eastside of Moonclaw Vale, for 500k Gold an hour on 14 phases of Chromie time with WM on/off. This raw gold would dictate the market of any server. I'm sure many other spots were saturated with multiboxers as well.

@Emelia UR SIGS WERE YUMMY !
Whoever this group or individual were they imho took advantage of the last Legit Multibox "non-exploit?" allowed in the game. For that I would personally love to congratulate that person on the gold they farmed and the impact I perceive they had on this matter. from 1 multiboxer/exploiter to another, I tip my Hat.

Many other factors and events over the years have pushed blizzard towards this.

I assume Party sync was used for all non bfa chromie phases as the druids were level 50. All in scuffed easy to obtain gear. All strong enough to quickly farm the majority of the areas spawns. As to the specific builds it is unknown to me. However at this point I don't think it matter either way. any 50 is strong enough to starfall/sunfire these mobs.

This spot is by far the best location to farm Legion BoE and gives a massive amount of raw gold through grey items. This spot it the best spot to gold cap on F2P.

Blizzard wants to be swift and instead of nerf farm spots that have been known for years they just stopped multiboxing outright. It would be far harder to fix all the instant spawn locations as well as the mechanics behind instant spawn and gathering nods. Therefore a ban on Multiboxing was green-lit. Chromie time probably wasn't factored in before the problem became evident.

Multiboxing is no longer profitable to blizzard due to wowgold being used to buy xpacs and subs they have no choice but to stop it outright. The risk of black market inflation as well as general deflation/inflation on servers economy is to risky to allow to play out without direct intervention on their part. The cost/risk/benefit analysis had to have shown a steep decline in some sort of valuable metric for them to change anything involving money. The profit from multibox wow tokens is no longer more beneficial than banning multiboxing. Therefore they banned multiboxing.

Blackmarket and WoW token both caused this problem of blizzard tolerating multiboxing It's just been a couple years in the making.
the swiftness of this change is rash, if the reason is chromie time, but anything involving money is swiftly dealt with.

Im so glad I didn't buy multiple accounts for premade bgs.
I am glad that multiboxing is going to die down. As a twink and exploiter I didn't like that multiboxing was the strongest way to play content. Though it sure did help with a handful of exploits over the years :)
I look forward to a possible inflation on crafting materials over the next year.
a player should earn good gold for their time spent farming with 1 toon.

It's suppose to allow Players to experience older content, which they could've just added a breadcrumb Quest to the war Board and called it. The fact that you CANNOT Que for Dungeons unless you're on that specific Chromie time (TBC/WotLK/etc) is fucking stupid. Also, while you're on some specific Chromie time so you can Que for those Dungeons, it fucks up other parts of the Game.

LFD was introduced to streamline the dungeon process from its old time manually formed and manually traveled version to the automatically formed and teleported version.

this change came at the cost of player interaction.
as the years have passed they have ironically placed systems into the game that counter automatic QoL change.

WM and chromie time both force players to return to town after long walks to their friends when they realize they are in the wrong phase. In pre-patch alone i have spent over 3 hours on back and forths due to chromie time.

the idea behind chromie time is cool but he execution of going back to SW/ORG(inconvenient locations) then going back to nagrand in wod without Garrison hearth is Stupid. takes forever to walk if you dont have flying.

ease of access seems to be their marching song yet the systems they implement only separate community more with useless invisible walls no one asked for.

[doublepost=1604531279][/doublepost]I'm pissed that yet again blizzard either didn't know the system they created or they knew damn well and have been planning this move all along.

Either way i cant fucking wait for the new studios to make some games. I really feel the urge to abandon the Blizzard ship.
