Phase 1 will be really good for first weeks of levelling and STV madness. There'll be leveller gankers but less.
I did not remember anything about this version of Alterac Valley. Was it good or nay? I should check wowhead to remember.
 
Honestly I think its about time for a fkn date....loving all the news relating to plans etc but FFS give us a date. Its fkn vanilla wow not GTA 6 you did it already one time.....cant help but feel the schedule is motivated less by time and more by opportunity

They were Alterac Valley Legends.

Myth has it that they summoned giant beasts. Sometimes they could not decide who the winner was after two days of relentless fighting.

It will be a blessing to be able to recreate battles as spoken in these tales.
 
Fueled by players grinding faction rep for exciting early end level goodies


Does anyone remember that one christmas period early on where you could gather snowballs in AV and they had a broken as fuck knockback effect on hit? resulting in players knocking each other off the bridge and other areas knocking ouyt of LOS ...cant remember if it interrupted casting.......i completely forgot about that until now

One of the shitty parts is when you have 3-4 salty kids on your own team constantly spamming you with them

and you get unstoppable force proc'd 24/7

From my understanding, the 1.12 version of AV is a lot "quicker" than previous versions, and also guards grant honor. This makes it the most efficient BG for ranking unless there's a WSG or AB weekend active. For someone who prefers AV I guess it's good but if we don't see crossrealm BGs/battlegroups, chances are WSG and AB (especially WSG) won't pop unless it's weekend. This has been the case on the latest vanilla private server (Northdale, that had AV version 1.12), where pretty much ALL ranking happened inside AV making WSG and AB inactive.

Battlegroups were introduced in patch 1.12 (final patch of vanilla) and Blizzard has pretty much made it clear that 1.12 version will be the general base for classic retail, with the exception of content progression (such as release date for BGs and raids). Whether battlegroups are considered a part of content progression or not isn't very clear to me and blizzard is yet to say anything about it. I personally hope they introduce crossrealm BGs together with phase 3.

Eh...Saying "Summer" is fine.

That's only a 3 month window, anyway. An exact date would be nice, sure...But a lot of the times, it's just safer to ballpark it.
 
Saying Summer is fine but eventually a date is gonna have be announced and considering we're like 8 weeks or so away from US Summer Im fdeelling more and more like summer miight actually mean the last fkn day of the season #TELLUSTHEDATE

Well it is a guess, I have no inside knowledge. A July release feels likely just based on timing, I don't think they can get it out by June, and August would be Late summer so would disappoint people. Tuesday are the most common release dates for Video games. And early July feels like a good "target" date, so I went with the 9th.
