New Heirloom system (Blue Info)

call it troll bait but its the truth? why would and SHOULD blizz care for thrift2plays who parasites on blizz' game w/o paying

Keep up the insults, by all means. I'm interested in seeing where the edges of Shane's new zero-tolerance policy on trolling and insulting are.

On topic though, it's to everyone's advantage to not have enchants allowed on heirlooms. Heirlooms are ostensibly meant for leveling to end content, hence their bonus to experience, but end-game enchants unbalance that leveling process. So even outside of the obvious disparity they create in PvP (in all brackets, NOT a F2P issue) they also misbalance leveling PvE.

Now if you want to intelligently respond to those comments, go ahead, but if you crack another insult I -will- report you.

by removing the possibility to enchant heirlooms other, non-heirloom gear, will become superior making heirlooms almost completely useless. why would blizz want to encourage lvlers NOT wielding heirloom gear? dont report plzz btw your warrior needs agmx2 since its human female

Exactly. Heirlooms were never intended to be the best gear available at any level, ever. They were intended to be really good gear for leveling, but ask any long-time twinker what effect they think heirlooms have had on the twinking scene. You can make the argument that Blizzard doesn't care about twinking, and that's fine, but it still holds true that heirlooms are supposed to be levelling gear, not best gear. In fact, making heirlooms unenchantable would further cement their role as leveling gear and they would not be mistaken as a replacement for intelligent gear choices.

making heirlooms almost completely useless.

No, heirlooms would still be great at what they were designed to do: allow a leveler to level quickly with experience bonuses, while preventing them from having to worry about slowing down along the way to grind new upgraded gear which would slow down the leveling process.

why would blizz want to encourage lvlers NOT wielding heirloom gear?

See the above comment. If levelers want to level as fast as possible, they would stack as much +experience gear as they can. That's precisely (and only) what heirlooms are there to do.

your warrior needs agmx2 since its human female

If you're offering to crossream me into 2 AGMs, then I accept. When do we start?

To be fair, in most arena settings you're going to want Mark/AGM instead of 2x AGM.

So you'd really only need to get the troll to xrealm you 1 AGM.

I'd totally settle for that :)

Blizzard doesn't give a shit about twinking, be it b2p or f2p.

I've run a lot of low level dungeons recently (like everyone who roams the twink section, I guess) and one thing I noted is how people without heirlooms are treated in this game. In BG's they are outright told that they should GTFO the Battleground, that they have no place in the team. In freaking Shadowfang Keep the tank gets blamed if he or she hasn't 2700 hitpoints. Players without heirlooms are, and there is no arguing about it, second class people during the leveling experience.

That said, wether you like it or not, Blizzard will tackle that situation. Scaling enchants was the first step and there is certainly more to come. Not that I agree with it, but there is no way that they let new players get alienated like that because some twinks want to pwn.

I'm not sure where you're coming from. You seem to be responding as if someone suggested that heirlooms shouldn't be available to low level players? No one said that. Can you explain what you're responding to?

Enchants were hit HARD with the Nerf bat. They aren't nearly as OP as they used to be.

Mainly to "why would blizz want to encourage lvlers NOT wielding heirloom gear?" and the removal of enchants on heirlooms.

Because I absolutely see them remove enchants altogether with the BOA tab for the reasons I mentioned. Boa's, even without enchants, make a huge difference during leveling, to the point that new players without them get harassed in BG's and dungeons.
I wouldn't be surprised if they increase the exp bonus, but nerf the stats on heirlooms considerably. Or they introduce scaling in dungeons / improve scaling even more in BG's.

All in all we need

1500 Helm x7
1750 Legs x7
1200 Cloak x 4

27550 gold :S

The first zone in Wod gives 600-700 gold including rewards, so I guess I will have to find another way to earn that much in merely 10 days.

Soloing raids is also an option, it's easier than ever before. Better off learning how to play the AH though. Farming vendor trash is pesos compared to what you could be making.

Heirloom tab seems useless since I can't get into bgs.

Yeah I hear you, but playing the AH within 10 days? Without starting capital?

I used to make a lot of gold in TBC and WOTLK, but back then I had several months to plan ahead....

This is slightly off topic, but this does make me sad to hear, because of course those people without BoAs are probably true newbies, who need the most patience and kindness from other players, not the least. But I guess people will be people.

Happens constantly, sadly. Sometimes it's subtle, like at the start of the BG when someone "/says : We are going to lose, no looms...", other times half of the group leaves a dungeon when the tank can't handle a big pull (which he/she didn't even pull herself, of course). "Learn to fucking tank". At 800 HP, yeah.

In a way it does prepare people for what's to come, because people are dicks at any level, but I do think that there shouldn't be such a great gap between new players and people who are decked in heirlooms, at least not between 1-40 when people are stil learning.

I'm sure Blizzard is aware of that and tries to find a balance between not punishing new players for being new and not pissing off people who spent time and gold on heirlooms.

Agreed. Making heirlooms unenchantable would go a long way towards solving that disparity.

Dungeons are a complete face roll as it is. There doesn't need to be any scaling.

Like I said before; heirlooms with enchants are still able to be 'physically' mailed. Heirlooms from the tab most likely won't have enchants.

Solo raids, vendor trash, sell BOE Blues and mats. Frostweave and Embersilk are still money makers.

One more thing. Don't just DE or vendor the greens. Some of them command a pretty nice price for transmog.

I've made about 6k in three days without even trying.

That plus the more 90s/100s you have the more raid lockouts your going to get. It adds up pretty quick
