Mid Strat, Is there a counter?

1 sec for the 2 DoT GCD.

Would it be incorrect to state that the global cooldown is 1,5 seconds? Maybe I just misunderstood you.

you gonna use blazing speed everytime you got focused to save the mana of your healers.

This seems logical, but don't you think blink is enough?

I don't know when you will get a POM poly on a healer 40 yards behind his brewmonk.

What if you kill a few of their DPS making it safe for you to blink into the rest of their team, knowing that your healers will spam on you in case you take severe damage.

force a trinket is a good thing if you can set another CC in the 2 min after the trinket. And if no dot on the target...

Good.

i'm not still sure what kind of barrels dodger you are but idk which kind of monk you facing everyday...

It's not particularly hard to dodge a barrel from max range. The monks I most usually play against are you and Ídontcare.

Have a speed stacking druid pick flag, run a defence in flag room and pray that the other team has their noses too far in gy to catch the drood, speed pot as needed

Mids pisses me off. I hate when the other team does it AND I hate when my team does it too.
It's boring. If I wanted to just have a giant brawl, I would go do 5v5 because at least it'd be more even and fun than pugging in mids with a bunch of players who can't strategize for crap.

I'm done raging...Sorry - Just the thoughts of mids makes me mad.
----

The counter to mids. Let's see.
Well there's a huge aspect that people are missing. The sheer size of mids. Is it truly possible for a team to cover the middle, the left and the right of the field? Mids is the middle of the field, yet most likely we're referring to the direct center.

If you want to avoid mids, just use the sides. Hell, if you go right they're going to head towards you - Thus leaving the entire other side even more open. If they're spread out, then it's not too hard to CC some of them and just run right through them.

The thing with mids is speed. If you can't get across mids, or the side, faster than it takes them to meet you then you're just going to end up having a brawl. If I learned anything in rugby it's about using the space you have. Seriously. Just drag em right as if you're meeting FC and then have FC run left, or vice versa. Will it work every time? Nope! But in close games, the difference between 5 yards and 25 yards can change everything. They're there for a fight. Most likely the people who are 'controlling' mids will fall for your 'pull'.

Another person who doesn't get what the mid strat is.

In other news, I answered this question correctly on page 1.

For the global cooldown thing haste reduce it so i'm totally lost since i tried on PVE moonkins haste 90...

since clash can grip you back it's hard to say if blink is enough it depends if the monk grip him in a worse position... In my eyes it's not enough cuz you still be in range of that caster after the blink and they can crit on you so hard since you play with premade gear full intel / crit gear no resi no trinket... But you're right if you kill some dps then you can blink in doesnt matter :)

yeah max range barrels is hard to setup but most of times you won't throw to far away from your position i know it's easy to dodge it max range

Wow never expected this topic to continue so far......But seems like it turned into a arguement over what talent is better for mid strat.....o_O off topic much?

That is the exact reason why I havent requested the thread to be closed/cleaned up.....it is about mid strat, just wow the topic is mainly on the first 3 pages (if that) and the rest is about people arguing what is best for mid strat

but it's about the mid strat, in a way!

i play mage a lot and i love blazing speed

it helps you get into good position and its good for catching up to ppl and own them :D

what does the agility do for a mage?

I've never seen midstrat properly executed, so I'm mad at people in mids, not the strat.
If people actually strategized for mids, I wouldn't be mad. But they hardly do.

Do you play 19s? Do you realize what the mid strat is?

First off, does level bracket have anything to do with mid strat? No.
I've already established that I do realize what it is, and if you want me to explain it I can. There's no point to your questions as I could easily copy&paste your definition of midstrat. The point of my reply is basically 'why are we arguing here'.

Can you explain it please?

In my opinion midstrat is...

- A way to shut down the field, or at least make it difficult for the other team to cross the field.
- A first line of defense that is often more powerful than having a few in the flag room. Either way, having both makes it difficult for the other team to get the flag. Obviously, it works the same way with allowing your FC / team to cross the field to get the flag and get back quickly.
- Is complimented greatly by GY camping.
- Is complimented best by classes that can slow, CC, trap, bind, sap, etc the enemy to ensure safe passage. Aka, ranged classes are good for mid strat.

Mid strat, as I understand it, is making it easy for your team to cross the field. While you may not kill the enemy, the goal is to 'get them out of action' or away from the attack / FC when your team is coming back.

If I am completely wrong, then I apologize and will happily read your description of mid strat.
My arguments above are simply that mid strat is good, but rarely executed well - Not that mid strat is dumb. Mid strat, the real mid strat, is good - But the "mid strat" that people execute is more of a 'lemme rack up honor while i aimlessly wack my sword around and forget about objectives"

Not being a 19er, you don't fully understand what the mid strat is, but thanks for clarifying yourself at least ;)
