EU+US Level 80 & 85 Soloing

Hello,

I recently started making a lvl 80 DK twink for soloing purposes. I however am doing this because I want to be able to solo LK 25 HC weekly to have a chance to get the mount.

This is my dk currently, still have to figure out what belt/boots I should get and need the cloak from Throne of Tides + 600 LW:

I however noticed that only 10 man normal, 10 man HC and 25 normal has been solo'd by a DK. Paladins are the only ones that have killed the LK 25 on HC, did I make the wrong class decision and are DKs simply not able to pull this off?

IF DKs can solo this, what stats should I go for? I'm completely new at doing this, I've never had a twink so all I've done so far was mainly try to follow what Aelobin is doing gear-wise.

Incase lvl 80 DKs simply can't do it, I have a lvl 80 spare paladin I could use if that's the way to go, what class/level would you suggest?

80 DKs have yet to solo LK25H. I don't want to say it's "impossible" but it'll be very difficult and annoying if it actually is, so probably not something you'd want to endure on a weekly basis.

Go with your paladin. There was someone who posted earlier in the thread saying it took them quite a few attempts to solo him on their 80 but only 1 on their 85 (I think?). I'll leave the paladin details to Splosion though.

That's quite a bummer. A question to splosion; would you suggest a 80 or 85 paladin? What item set / profession should I shoot for?

Im still trying to figure ways with glyph of battle healer and WoG spam if i can down Dreamwalker 25H, but i saw no dk's have solo'd it yet, have none just controlled captain arnath the blood elf priest he alone can put out 90kish HPS (i know because a DK friend of mine did it during one of our ICC guild runs) or is he alone not enough to solo it too?

As far as I know he will go oom before the boss is at full health and don't reg any mana.
 
Decided to go with a 85 pala! Leveling blacksmith now (10k down the drain, jesus).

I can't find any armory of a 85 pala twink, terrador has his pvp retri stuff equipped... Also 0 videos of 85 pala twink soloing Lich King 25 hc??

Anyone has an armory or list of gear I should aim for? Got to finish BS and Alch and then lvl from 80 to 85, so it'll take a week to start kicking ass :(

If it's easier at 85 than level 80 then you could probably just by all the highest ilvl str plate items you find on the AH then go and roflstomp it. Blacksmiths can craft ilvl 415 stuff, there's several weapons you can choose from (archeology 463 would be your best bet), shield and everything.

A DK I'm leveling has quite a lot of BoEs. Bødøm @ Moonglade - Community - World of Warcraft
If you got gear similar to that you could probably do it easily.

This is the gear I've got. Used my DK save (first wing cleared) and one shot plague wing. Toughest being Stinky and Precious.. Thank god we have sacred shield!

Think Ill go for Council and Blood Queen today, altho Im not sure how to get around being bitten.. Does standing in the fire skyrocket vengeance? May be able to do it if that's the case.

Any tips for gear improvement? Ill level Archaeology for the 463 MH, got to farm rares in Kun Lai for the crit/haste 430 wrists and I think I should get shoulders/legs of tier 13? Heroic pieces that is.

Are my reforges right?

Edit; haven't managed to get high revenge at all yet... Even pulled the traps + scientists to festergut but it never got to 20k or higher, anything specific I may have overseen? Or is their damage just too low?

Tried the LK 16 times today (25 hc). Im having issues with p1.5 to p2 transition (first remorseless winter).

I usually have all ghouls dead and a couple of shamblers alive, first tries I went up the stairs but then I just went to the edges killing the orbs with judgement. Which goes fine, I make it through every pull now.

However, once the LK stops casting judgement and goes back on me I take big amounts of damage. I move out of defile but I just drop like a fly sometimes.. I noticed shamblers enrage at this point and they hit me pretty hard, should they be dead at this point?

Im doing around 210k dps which should be fine, I keep concentration up and barely use crusader strike so Im already doing quite some AoE. Should I perhaps get rid of the glyph of focused shield to deal more damage to shamblers? Or focus fire them down instead before p1.5 starts? I figured I shouldnt do that because I'd lose a lot of dps? Vengeance usually is 150k at P2.

Ive seen plenty of kills with enraged ghouls up so no clue what the issue is... I already use all cooldowns and try to keep all mobs infront of me as best as I can.. Can't find any 85 pala LK 25 HC kill videos unfortunately..

Any idea what it could be?
 
The shamblings only enrage when they hit 20% hp, so AoE is actually what's causing them to deal more damage. It's a great source of vengeance though if you can survive it. You should also keep the ghouls up since you'll get more Grand Crusader procs which will increase your dps by a lot.

Afraid I can't help with your survival question. From the LK25H solos I've seen and read about, most people seem to stay on the boss during transitions unless they're a very well geared 90.

How do I deal with ice spheres if I stay on the LK? Ive tried that a couple of times but got knocked down every time..
 
Just don't AoE, like at all. On my kills I've only used consecration in early p1, towards the end of p1 you shouldn't really have the space to use it in your rotation (low prio spell, so you should be using everything else in front of it). p1 transition you should stay out, it's only really p2 transition you zerg (if unmatched used the tactic I used at least), just because in p1 you'll probably have used your DPS cds before the transition. For the p2 transition you should have them all ready, and pushing the phase with high vengeance should be realatively easy.

I'd suggest using 2pc t13 retribution (shoulders/legs), the DPS gain is worth quite a bit.

Extremely clean solo kill there. Very impressive - I remember when this was all new content and feel ashamed that you could solo it so smoothly and our 10 man groups did it so poorly at the time of release :p

Ah ill have to work on getting the ret pieces then!

Wont the ghouls bug the encounter? I've had 2x P3 tries, in one I died in throne room for no reason (nothing in combat log, just "you died." I did have tons of ghouls up. Second time I survived throne room, got ported back to LK and had all shamblers and LK behind me which was near instant death.

So keep all ghouls up or kill em? And how do I deal with the spheres on second remorseless winter?

Edit: can I solo Yorsahj on heroic in DS? What about Hagara?
