Lets Talk WPvP Events

If you die in Ahn'Qiraj, the graveyard is in the middle of the zone and you can fly to your corpse. I really think there are things to do there.

I'm going to scout this out next! :)

I was just doing some scouting and testing in Zul'Gurub, and discovered some unfortunate news that I have to share.

I tested out dying in ZG to see where the graveyard would be that it sends you to. When I died in there, I respawned at the graveyard all the way over at Rebel Camp.

Let me re-emphasize that: I didn't show up as a ghost at Rebel Camp--which would be bad enough because it's so far away--I RESPAWNED, alive, at Rebel Camp.

This effectively means that the area inside Zul'Gurub can't be used for World PVP.

I didn't even think of GY proximity, but yeah, it should probably be one of the most important factors. Having to walk across a zone to get back into the fight would suck a bit. But respawning some other place entirely?! Crazy.

That's a GREAT find. I wonder if there are other zones like that? I know Twilight Highlands is usually empty, and has the flying/mounted spirit travel mode. There's also parts of TH that have no mobs, like the area between the main chunk of the zone and the Wetlands.

This is a disappointment, however, what about a 'Last Man Standing' game for it instead?
That solves the issue of not being able to walk back to your corpse there and it could turn into a massive hunt!
 
Maybe we can make our own Strand of the Ancients with the differents gates which are on the road to Grim Batol. A team trying to reach Grim batol, gate after gate, and another trying to defend.

I actually like this. If we find the right map we could make the "gates" like level 40 pve mobs or maybe someones level 30-40 twink. Or we could make it so each "gate" is tougher. Make sure the "gates" don't heal themself at all or get healed and the first gate being a level 24 twink then maybe a level 29 twink then 34 twink then the final gate could be a 39 twink? At the end you could have to kill a 50 twink who just sits there and can't do anything.


Just a thought and this would involve higher level twinks but I'm sure we could recruit if this is gonna become a regular thing.


Edit: the AQ zone would be PERFECT for this gate thing as they are walled in and there are plenty of places to put a gate with an obvious final destination
 
Pyrewood Village in SIlverpine also looks nice. Empty and tonssssssss of buildings to go in and out of. SFK Stone is also right next to it.

edit: Maybe Zeb'Nowa in the ghostlands. I think there's a similar type village in eversong as well.

edit2: right outside ZA is also pretty cool

I thought about a "Rescue the King" game in Ahn'Qiraj in 2 steps.

1. A small team (lets say A team) tries to find and rescue "the king" hidden somewhere in the zone. The other team, more numerous, is divided in 2 groups (B team and C team). B is small too and his goal is to slow the searches of A team. Because the zone is big and the group is small, B will have to deploy. In that case they'll not be able to kill A but it doesnt matter, the more A lose time the better it is.

2. When A find the king, C enters the game as reinforcements for B. At this point, the goal for A is to escape Ahn'Qiraj with the king before being caught and killed.

Notes:
-None know where the king is at the beginning of the game.
-A timer should be great, improving the importance of B job during the first step.
-I think it should be better if the king have no mount.
-It must be no communication between B and C or it will be very easy for C to rush A and kill them all.

Here is a map to illustrate


I don't expect it to become true, but at least to give new ideas !
 
blackrock mountain in burning steppes is a great spot, big area with no mobs.

also Ruins of the Scarlet Enclave (dk starting zone) is a great area. no mobs or dk's, no one goes in that area either. lots of buildings and space to work with

This is a nice idea(even thought i didn't understand 25% of it and who cares about plan when we got horde to kill lol :3... but the title "Rescue the king" make it look an awesome event :D

i see that AQ and Eastern plagelands scarlet enclave are the 2 best place to wpvp(gotta check where spirit healers are)

Bumping this so rhae may see it. This would be a perfect 2nd round wpvp event imo.

Lower # of people which means less lag
Clear objective which gives some people something to look forward to or try to get done
Deserted zone which means low interference chance from 90s and VERY low chance of random f2p joiners
Could make it a tourney like thing where the groups go against other groups throughout a couple hours (doubt trying to get the king out would take more then 30 minutes per game)
The "king" can be a p2p 90 who 1 shots anyone who isn't supposed to be there or tries to interfere
 
I am mentally developing ideas for a 15-man event, and a 40-man event that should be epic! Once the school year starts to wind down I will post more details!
 
I realise the title of this thread is wpvp events, but just as a new idea, how about we could also start to plan events for the people in the bracket with less willingness to compete in pvp. Maybe things like a massive game of hide and seek...
Just an idea :p
