EU+US Legion Crafted legendary now goes up to 970ilvl

With the new crafted legendary going up I wonder how volatile the market will be. Personally I'll be crafting mine on my main, but just thought I'd give everyone a heads up that they do indeed go up to 970 if they're crafted today, which of course is a nice little bonus to us :)

been stocking up past 3 quests on every profession.
Hello millions.

Most likely it'll become a fire sale for the 940 variants, down to around 5-15K and within ~3 weeks or so the new 970 versions should drop down well below 100K. I can't say for sure they'll end up in the upper 30's, lower 40's like the 940's were the week leading up to 7.2.5 but it's possible.

Is there a 970 upgrade for the 940s? And does it bind any boe legendaries if applied?

Yes, it's the same Quest giver in new Dal and still requires 110 to take. However, I haven't tried to use it on an unbound 940 yet so if I find one cheap enough it's worth a shot.

On a side note, has anyone simmed the new 970s to see how much of a gain it was for them? just curious is all lol

Not sure about actual dps increases but my crit went up 2%, haste up 1%, like 1k more int and 10k more health. So kinds huge to be honost especially that int boost. Noticeable difference in Nelth farming.

oh lol... this game.
Don't worry, the Crafted Legendaries are going to go up again to 1000 iLvL when Argus is Live (if Blizz keeps up with the current schedule for Gear improvements) so we get to do it all over again, and again, and again... Welcome to Diablo-WoW where Compound RNG and never ending upgrades within an XPac keep you throwing Money at Blizz.

At least farming for legendary is free and replaces celumbra for clothies.
As far as the legion BOEs constantly getting higher in item level, for the majority the minimum IL + another stat is still pretty OP and most settle for those. Twinking can be cheap. You could make a boss toon with only spending like 10k a piece on gear if on a high pop server and enough hunting. I've found 3 leech socket 840s and like 5 speed sockets on my server all for bargains. (Nearly same price as other non socketed non extra stat because they don't realize what they have before posting). Which in my opinion is almost the same as a titanforged 3rd stat item.
It's all personal opinion but it can be done for dirt cheap

10K per item is still 100K+ per Character and while that isn't "expensive" in Legion due to the absurd inflation that Blizz swore they were fixing by increasing the Gold cap to 9,999,999, it still isn't cheap either. Also, to equate an 840 geared 101 to a "Twink" is no different really than slapping a full set of Looms on a 39 and calling that a Twink too. While I won't argue that a full 840 iLvL 101 is quite capable it's nothing more than a starting point.

True Twinking is the endeavor to obtain that final +1 Stat beyond every other Player. For 101's that means the absolute highest iLvL obtainable (currently either 900 or 905 in 7.2.5) with a Socket and some Tertiary Stat. Previous XPacs in WoW, as soon as it went Live the Twinks of that XPac had their entire list of Gear mapped out for them because of Level requirements since continued higher Tier releases didn't change what those lower than Level cap Twinks had available to them. Legion is different in that it keeps changing, due to the Diablo Devs they brought in specifically to push more Compound RNG, Loot Crates, etc. It's a cancer that shouldn't exist in a competitive MMO. We already had a daunting task as 101's from Legion's launch with trying to get full 895's.

The ever changing iLvL cap (for sub 110's), Compound RNG for Gear drops, Loot Crates (PvP variants as well as the 810 Relics in the Lockboxes), lowering the Level requirement to 101 then increasing the Legendary iLvL with full knowledge that 101's can't upgrade them, etc are what keep Players throwing money at Blizz. It's a great financial strategy but very lazy Game design. But this is Blizz we're talking about, the same Company that allows Realms to die completely, doesn't bother merging them for years, and then still requires you to pay $25 for every single Character you Transfer off said Realm.

Your saying 840ish gear with socket leech isn't almost as good as 870 with just leech? Because most of my gear is around 840 but I don't think I'm anywhere near the "starting". I've been looking for pure socket leech gear since start of xpack. All I was trying to say is if you hunt for the gear that might not be warforged but does have a socket and leech, you can do it for cheap and you will be just as good as someone who IL stacks
