Is this really bannable??

I always open windows side-by-side and click between them and never had any issues with bans. Alt+tabbing works too, just make sure that if you are using Windows that "Scroll inactive windows when hovering over them" is turned off in the Mouse settings.

Otherwise scrolling the mouse wheel sends events to all game windows at same time (if they are stacked) and breaks the multi-boxing rules.
This has made me think, I've always had this turned on as I am always moving my mouse to my second monitor to scroll websites with wow still open on the other screen. Obviously never had any issues before but maybe now because I've been opening 5 wow windows, this has flagged me up? Is this a common experience with other people?

weakauras are player assist scripts with lipstick, long ago blizz would outright ban scripts. every wonder how players get like 3000+ arena/MDI ratings yet alot of them you never see at AWC, MDI, etc. because the scripts/assist are submitted then approved or disallowed

these days blizzard are hit or miss on bans, uber inconsistent. what they want to detect and what they ignore even when reported

i was watching classic wotlk record run of ICC, on last boss one of the phases they had three paladins that used a weakaura that auto detected, separate targeted, each HOJ not to hit the same mob. recorded on video. that would have been a perma ban. today blizz lets it slide. of course they can't watch or monitor everything. influencers who watched this in their videos and commented basicly how good players are today vs back then. again back then blizz would have nullified the gear, and issued bans.

when first classic WOW launched during BFA in some of the raids, some of the so called top players were using a player move assist weakaura scripts that would auto bump move them out of AOE, etc. damage spots. they are so pro never standing or caught in anything

Definitely looks like there is a ban wave happening. Sounds like even people who didn't use the xp Macro are getting banned. If they are going to crack down on this, Blizzard needs to just make timewalking require level 30 again like the pre-anniversary days. Banning people for playing the game with gems, items and level scaling that is inherently part of the game is incredibly flawed. 10/11's aren't cheating. They are leveraging blizzard's OWN scaling system. The fact they are doing this without any communication or warnings is disturbing. There's people with a decade + of time investment on their accounts who are permanently banned with no warning.

At the bare minimum, I would strongly advise anyone using the xp macro to stop it ASAP. If you play 10's/11's, be very cautious until there is more clarity on this. Even some 20's have been banned. All signs point to there being an automated system at play here that's flagging people.

I don't play 10's, but this is the completely wrong way to handle the situation. Hoping you guys get your accounts restored soon.

A heads up to everyone who has been banned: . You're going to see "we've thoroughly investigated" etc. etc (they haven't), it'll feel like you won't actually reach a real person for 3 or 4 attempts (you'll be right). Be persistent . If you aren't multiboxing or abusing the xp macro, you did nothing wrong per the TOS. Remember that

I wasnt even running TW and still got banned. Just usual tbc dungeons. And no macros at all.

Then we can't be sure that we won't be banned for using any accessible to everyone thing in this game.
oh come now. You know what youre doing if youre hiding out in a TW dungeon and constantly resetting with a toon outside that dungeon. You know what youre doing if youre running scripts or opening multiple windowed instances on the same monitor, or using follower dungeon ques to bypass xp-off debuffs, or manipulating chromie time to use busted WOD trinkets or or or or

We're all well aware that we're very often dancing on the edge of what is and isnt acceptable via the TOS. Those of us who have been around for a long time, that is. Doing the shocked pikachu face when ban waves come out is a bit disingenuous.

Imagine getting banned for using Crusader enchant when it was giving 100 str just because it wasnt intended by blizzard. And then when they realise that it is not intended they ban people who use it. Same with these gems. IF these gems are the reason, idk.

Tbh i did nothing from your list. Checkmate

We cant even say what was the reason of ban. Some say they were clearing dungeons, some say they had a lot of movement speed, some say they were running TW. We have no clue what is the actual reason. My first thought was that i got suspended by anticheat because i had 228% movement speed with burning rush+sl gems+minor speed.

I suspect they're going to say that soft-resetting timewalking instances is not legit creative use of game mechanics, but maybe it is the macro or just reports from other players. The wow community council has a post going about it, fyi.

Been driving me crazy trying to figure out what could have triggered the system into the ban, but from the look of things it could have been anything. It is at least comforting knowing it's not just me.
