Yes, we all said this would happen, 29s killed one of the last active brackets.
Blizzard made the change to the bracket. People played 29s as a natural min/max method to getting the most out of the bracket. If you fault 29s, you probably should fault the developers who made the game change.
What you are seeing is what happens when any bracket experiences sudden game change. This typically happens when expansions drop. Most of the time, during the prepatch. Just ask those of us who were around for the 3.2 patch, what happened to twinking.
Just ask. Chops can probs tell u. Kirise. Hell, any active user who had a TI account and still has the same account here, can probs tell u. The mistake is putting too much value in twinking (or world of warcraft, because patch cycle). Those of us who have stuck around this long, or left and come back, have decided to avoid putting all this effort into this part of the game.
Ironically, no part of the game is worthwhile, long term. Not anymore.
Unsure there was ever an 'eternal' Wow experience to be had. Would be nice, but not likely to ever happen. That doesn't make as much $$. Prepatch is live this week (1st part of it, anyway) and will likely bring about a lot of changes that don't make our life any better. That's just a fact of expansion time. You're gonna have to relearn how to use a talent tree, gonna have to get used to new tuning (hoping they actually do some this time) and you might even have to rebuild every character you have.
Welcome to Azeroth.
