Interesting BoE scaling found.

I also stumbled across a glass cannon set of boots - low ilvl green straight from a vendor.
Seems to have escaped Blizz's scaling ;)

i have looted a good amount of old style scaled loot of +5 to ilvl
a lot of vendor bought green boes are still +5
the blue bop pvp gear from the silverwing and warsong quartermasters is also still +5
afaik profession made gear has also not been effected by the scaling squish remaining at +5
and the love is in the air necklaces are still only +5 as well

How will this be affected by the upcoming ilvl squish?
[doublepost=1518728910,1518719133][/doublepost]Where do you guys think is the best place to farm for 39 epics with the fastest respawn rates?

Trying to figure out the 39 location for two week's, nothing too amazing found yet.

What about world BoEs drops from chests out in the world (such as these chests for ol' 19-24+ BoEs)? What about from chests in zones above a character's typical level range? Do those follow the same rules as world drops from mobs and rares?

I'm unfortunately unable to help check on my questions, since I'm unable to get on WoW due to system problems.

I've been told that items don't scale when being looted from a chest. So you would need it to drop regularly as a world drop. Stupid hard to farm.

Has anyone tried to farming with a higher toon with "pass on loot" on ? Just wondering if it would if loot will scale to the lower lvl toon when looting.

Edit: when looting mobs
I actually tried this. I ran a level 42 (because I make weird twinks ok) through stratholme for the postmaster set and book of the dead and the higher level character's loot required level 60 for everything. No dice.

Even at 29, everything I get from chests in SFK is for 19s and 20s so far. Now if only something useful would drop...

I picked up an elemental mage staff with a required level of 38 off the AH for 2k gold ... according to wowhead it ONLY drops in raids from trash.. so maybe this is some more info that can help us understand triggering these drops

Epics should be possible on any level now, even level one. Any mob that is 'spawned' abnormally in the world can be looted by any level. So my lvl 29 can loot the sandfury zombies from graves in tanaris and the plant things that pop out of the ground. These mobs are skulls to my 29, in a 40+ zone so they are level 40-41 ish, but he can still fully loot all their drops. Any greens that drop with be lvl 31 and don't scale but all world drop blues / epics scale to the level of the looter (I think?). Wowhead seems to suggest that the minimum level mob that can drop the lvl 35 epics is 40-41. So these mobs might let you farm epics on your low level twinks. I don't know what mobs were farmed for the elemental mage staff but it'd be the same principle.

I haven't actually farmed enough for a blue drop yet (only done like 15 mins farming on a 102 druid while my 29 loots everything) but I'll keep going till I get one.

Ignore the plants in tanaris, they are too spread out to be effectively farmed. I'm talking about the 20-30 graves outside of ZF. ONLY the zombies spawned from clicking on the graves are lootable by any level. The normal zombies already spawned on top of the graves follow regular looting rules.

The graves have a fast respawn time so even though my druid is one shotting everything I can still farm non-stop.

Are those zombies capable of even dropping blues though, let alone epics? Some mobs will not drop above uncommon and I believe these are one of those because I do know the same graves that spawn inside ZF that spawn mobs DONT drop blues, only greens and recipes

Thanks for answering any questions. I like your idea regarding all mobs having a chance but I doubt it but id love it if that were the case, but i think its safe to say no epics can drop below 35

Even if they didn't drop blues, the plants would. There's probably a bunch of other mobs that also spawn irregularly (like the blood of heroes mobs if they still exist for example) that are lootable by any level.

I'll do a few hours of farming later to see if the grave zombies can drop a blue.

I think for 30-39 epics the mob has to be 44. The max Item level I can get from a level 42 is 36

I don't actually know what level these zombies are....but I just looted a lvl 34 ilvl 37 axe on my 29.

Yes please disregard what I just said, I think I found the eprfect spot to test the lwoer level epic drops (though I do believe you have to be at least level 35) - farm the fast spawning pack mobs in burning steppes, its what im dping now and so far 2 rares both 8 i levels above their required level

Okay so on my 39 hunter I just looted a level 43 destiny with item level boosted way up at burning steppes. Howcome this didnt hit 38 ?

I am 99.9% sure now that all world drop epics from vanilla can be level 35-39 now too - I have seen so many and I believe that any mob that can drop any epic, will drop it.
