The item can be epic. We still don't know if it actually can drop at level 19. I'm also not that items that can be epic have a chance to upgrade when coming from lockboxes (perhaps someone who has been opening lockboxes has seen that?).

Well as far as i've seen theres no reason it cant go epic as it scales, seems that items that scales work the same way. considering it has a chance to drop Talon of Vultros scaled version i don't see a reason it wouldn't be able to drop an epic BVB.

Sooo, then BVB will scale to 20 even if looted on a 19 with that logic? With duskwood being a 20-60 zone?

Well then that’s good news. I was under the impression it only had ever dropped from those lock boxes in duskwood. I guess that’s just deemed a good spot to farm them. Cool beans
Any point in doing this hunt? I mean you're already at 3400 boxes and haven't even seen 1 drop. When it does drop you have another small as hell chance for it to proc epic. A blue BvB would be worthless when you can farm slicer blade/talon much easier and with much better results.
the ultimate swag dagger for lvl 19/20? worthless? bruh!
It's cool and fun to show off, but ultimately lower dps than other easier farmable options UNLESS you just happen to be the luckiest man alive and get it to proc epic as well.

Once one has been confirmed to drop, i think we'll see alot more in dropping in the future, since people are more inclined to farm when they know its 100% confirmed.
GMs are not good sources of knowledge and have been outright wrong in many cases. The average GM probably has less knowledge about the intricate drop mechanics than many of our forum members.
Been twinking since vanilla so that's no news to me. I had to GM add and remove BvBs until one proccd to prove it to him. They can proc epic 100%
My thoughts/concerns about this:
The question is, is it possible for an item in a lockbox to roll epic? the quest item contained in the bag did, but again that were a quest item.
As this item have dropped from mobs before, and may have been the only way for it to roll epic, and would put it in a similar situation as Black widow band which also got the possibility to roll epic, except its gfd (along with many more gfd items)
So if you asked a GM to add and remove a Black widow band it would probably proc epic as well, it would only prove a GM could proc it 100% but for us players it would still be gfd. Unless you could get a GM to open ∞ amount lockboxes and proc it that way, then I dont see how a GM's info is helpful unfortunately.
