How to gear your 70 for PVP

i dont like it and im not speced into it because its AWFUL and ruins the one good thing you have (chain CC) @ 70, sorry that you're garbage and have not learnt to chain CC like a boss, ill wait till your on my level though
<
.

Cant argue with that logic.

im just speaking on personal experience having played 2k rated with and without piercing shots.

why are you trapping your kill target again?

and before "get on my level" or someother similar comment i have also played to 2k in 3s with peircing shots and i damn sure didnt get there by launching my "breaks on damage cc" at the thing i am trying to kill =/

New CharDev Profiles:
These profiles aim to have approximately 30% resilience with gems. This is just a figure I decided upon while making these. There will be many choices you need to make while gearing which can go either way and come down to personal preference. These choices range from two closely matched BiS items to enchants to glyphs, etc. In general there are choices which are BiS in Arena, and then others that are BiS in Battlegrounds. However, there can be multiple choices which you'll simply have to decide which you'd rather have.

This applies to Gems, Gear, Enchants, Glyphs, Talents, Race, Professions and more. If something in the list is not BiS, and/or you have an alternative, let me know and I'll note it and or replace it. However, in these profiles I'm using gear that gives the most sockets without overly sacrificing resilience, in order to give greater flexibility. That said, in almost every slot, there is another item which is very close in terms of stats/value.

Most choices made in this list favor PVP vs. PVE gear if the gear has equivalent sockets and the class does not have a need for PVE set bonuses. That said, if you wish to gear with PVE gear, you'll lose 20-30 resilience and stamina per piece. You'll gain 20-30 of your main stat. This mainly applies to Helm/Chest/Gloves, as other slots usually have much greater PVE pieces.

Hunter
Notes: You may want to consider switching between the JC and PVP neck depending on your situation. The JC neck gives alot of agility through sockets, the PVP neck gives AP, Resil, and one socket. I'd recommend switching in more PVE gear as you get comfortable with the class as well, because Hunters tend to scale very well with gear.
Death Knight
Notes: Be sure to keep either another weapon with Swordbreaking on you at all times. You may want to consider switching out your Helm, Chest, Gloves and Boots with PVE and/or PVP alternatives depending on your playstyle. While the boots and gloves give obvious slot benefits, the Helm and Chest are more whether you prefer resilience and stamina or strength.

Rogue

Notes: Do not use dual-glaives. You are much better off with a dagger in your main-hand. That said, there are a few pieces such as the neck that you can switch in and out of depending on the situation. The 4 piece PVE bonus isn't worth it for most people, but you'll have to make your own determination. If you don't feel the need for expertise, the Shadowsong Panther will likely be a better second trinket for you.
Mage

Notes: If you change around your gear/gems make sure you keep yourself at approximately 15% haste and 28.33% crit. With Icy Veins + the trinket proc up that amount of haste allows for 3 Frostbolt and one instant casts during a deep freeze. The 28.33% crit causes glyphed Frostbolts to always crit on frozen targets, crit immunities notwithstanding. Switch between the Polymorph and Ice Lance glyphs at your leisure, depending on your situation and team.
Warlock

Notes: None so far.
Warrior
Notes: If you don't use the expertise trinket, you will likely want to gem to make up that expertise. That said, if expertise isn't an issue for you, feel free to ignore it. I choose the PVE boots over the PVP boots due to the extra sockets which give greater flexibility. The PVE 4 Piece bonus is ok, but it requires alot of gear without stamina. Another way to make up some expertise if you need it is to use the Gnomish Lightning Generator which is reforgeable.
Paladin
Notes: You might consider using the Intellect/Mana on Cast meta gem instead of the Spirit/increased Crit one. Also, if you are one of those Holy pallies that loves to kill unsuspecting people with Exorcism, you might change some talents around to do that.

Druid
Notes: There are a two different "BiS" sets for Feral. One employs both 4 piece bonuses, sacrifcing the extra agility and sockets for the extra 15% run speed outdoors. If you're a frequent BG'er, you may want to build that set. To do so, simply replace the Helm + Chest w/ the PVP counterparts and replace the legs with the Thunderheart variety from BT. On the other hand, if you don't need that run speed bonus, and keep in mind it's worthless in arena, you can gain alot of extra agility. In the BiS Build, I've gemmed extensively for Resilience to off-set the lack of PVP pieces. If you gem full agility, your ferocious bite and rips will hit like mac trucks, mostly due to the 4-piece pve bonus. Bottom Line: The PVP 4 Piece is debatable and only useful outdoors, the PVE 4-Piece is amazing.
Shaman
Notes: This build focuses alot on Spirit/Mana Reduction talents. Feel free to move these points elsewhere if need be. It all depends on your playstyle. Nature's Guardian can be good if you get trained often. Other talents can be useful as well. Make sure to keep 4% hit and 70+ spell penetration no matter what gear you us. This allows you to hex without fear of misses/resists. If you want to completely remove resists, you may need to up your spell penetration to 97, but 74 should work for most situations.
Notes: As with other builds, I don't take the 4 Piece PVE bonus here because it's a bit lackluster. The slots on the pants are more desirable. That said, feel free to use the PVE bracers and set pants if you wish. If you don't mind losing the 4 Piece PVP bonus you could also go with pve pieces with alot more haste and intellect, but that's debatable, make your own informed decision through testing.

BiS Trinkets:

Attack Power:
Spell Power/Casters:
Healing Specific:
ALL:
** Beserker's Call, some of the Battlemaster's Trinkets and a few others trinkets such as those from Zul'Aman are no longer available in game. If you have them you may use them, however you can't get them anymore. The Beserker's Call is easily replaced by Figurine Shadowsong, the Battlemaster's you'll simply have to use the not quite as awesome versions.

Jewelcrafting:
Blacksmithing:
Other professions tend to be less flexible/don't give as much benefit.

Disclaimer

This list is not BiS for every single person on the planet. Different playstyles and whether you're in arena/battlegrounds will play into your gear/gems/enchants alot. This simply shows you some of the most popular choices with a gem/enchant style that gives maximum benefit while keeping a decent amount of resilience. If you have pieces that you think are better and should be on this list, let me know. If it's simply something very close in terms of stats, I expect people to be able to explore chardev/wowhead on their own to find those items. That said...

Always confer with other twinks before making gearing choices. Never take information from one place as gospel.

Well then, if the community still wants this sort of list I'd be willing to go through and recreate them over time. Just let me know either way.

Looking at the amount of views this thread has gotten, I guess it's worth it to continue/recreate this.

Right, i will have a talk with Few Moderator's tonight and ill see what can be done, perhaps restore the old thread, if not i might end up making it my self as i love spending time on such threads.

Well, there's a head start for ya above. 90% of it is correct, some of the Druid stuff might be hit/miss considering how I haven't touched mine in ages, but it atleast gives you a starting point with which to make the builds.
