Help me decide on a new class

glancealot

Legend
I still have over 22 days left on my sub and my toon is close to being done.

I would like to roll something that is easy to play. (a 3-button class, if you know what i mean)

My philosophy is that my skill level is not affected by the complexity of the class, if i spend less time thinking about which ability to use thanks to the lack of class complexity, I can focus more on cool down management (trinket, consumables and tinkers), game objectives, team synergy and communication, etc.

I believe you also have to genuinely enjoy the class to be able to do well with it, and i simply enjoy easy-to-play classes.

A good analogy would be, i am a consistent 11 star legend player in hearthstone, but i just don't enjoy and therefore am not that good at playing certain decks that are supposed to be "easy to play" (zoolock, stealth rogue, face hunter). that is, i am the exact opposite in WoW vs in hearthstone.

if you could post some scoreboard SS associated with whatever class you propose, just to make your suggestion more credible, I would appreciate that greatly!

thanks in advance!

BM hunter rotation is like 4 buttons at end game so it's probably 2 or 3 at 20... xD (consumables, trinkets, etc aside ofc.)

something viable.
That kinda sounds asshole-ish.

No... it's perfectly effective with 1 button. Missile spam can easily let you top the chart in any typical leveling BG.

Plus you can slow, root, sheep, barrage, etc... but you can also just spam missiles all day and be quite effective.

edit- here ya go @glancealot , just played my first with mine to get a screenshot - played poorly... but objectively.

Note it was a rout, 10 mins long. (just noticed there's an ilvl 49 arti rogue in there, prolly someone here... /wave)

sorry, screwed up the details window, thought it was overall but that was only the last fight... here's the first one:

well that's three posts you've made to me in your lifetime, all saying hte same sentence. Mebbe a little biased.

Ret Pally may be worth considering.

Not TOO many buttons, but enough to feel like you’re playing the game as opposed to a 2 Button Andy spec.

Easy to learn but high upside as you get more comfortable with your positioning, when to heal vs damage, when to HoJ, etc.

Solid DPS, great utility, great off-heals, cleanse, very flexible playstyle where you can build tanky to just charge into the enemy frontline and let Crusader do the work for you, or can build a hybrid set with some Haste and Vers to be more of a mid-line spec who helps with off-heals and peels for healers/clothies.

Worth considering at least!

this is great suggestion and actually got me thinking:

crusader seems great on paper, what is the best class that abuses crusader?

oh i see. thanks for the insight!

i am guessing my best starting point is to unlock a levle 10 race and then farm for a socket or speed (or both) https://www.wowhead.com/item=117551/staff-of-the-one-true-bramble-king
I believe staff is BiS. From what I saw on lvl 10 guar warforged = 3 agility, which means warforged = socket in terms of damage (socket gives you options though). I wouldn't be surprised if warforged>socket for warrior.

Fury I'm sure is plenty viable. I believe Offhand special attacks calculate at 50% from MH, which means you don't need much in your OH, it should benefit from staff wep damage (would need to check this). Ret I would run Runeblade and just outlast everyone. You should be able to get the heal up to 200 every 5.

i am def leaning towards pally now.

1, no need to farm bramble staff

2, can go holy spec and play like a resto druid if i am in the mood
