I felt this exact same way, as if I had 'mastered' my weapon skills on Mesmer, which is why I switched over to an Elementalist as my PvE main. Then I hopped back on my Mesm for some fun and realized I really only learned one style of play - I was playing staff - scept/pist and then when I made the small change from staff to greatsword my entire playstyle had to change accordingly. It made me realize that the weapon/utility skills are very nuanced and are synergies to one another in really interesting ways!kills by around Lv30~, and the system encourages you to pick a set of skills you like and build towards that. From lv30-80 you are spamming the same skills
- Hearts are the same thing over and over, nothing really special about them... I'd say they are more repetitive than questing in WoW
It sure makes it obvious who understands the game mechanics and who doesn't. Have you done a dungeon yet, out of curiosity?- Lack of a true Tank/Healer/DPS system.... I love tanking/healing in WoW, in fact playing tank/healer in WoW dungeons/raids is one of my favourite things (besides BGs)... and even playing a pure DPS class, being able to just turret the boss because a tank is keeping him in place.... in GW2 everyone has to kite/dance/move or you die.. even against random mobs, 3 hits and you're dead
- The game becomes more expensive to play as you get higher level. Waypoint travel costs go up, repair costs go up... and without mounts, you can become very broke trying to get across the world later on in the game, and the rewards don't scale accordingly to reimburse you for that
I will say Personal Story is pretty well done, but the fact you have to go back to normal PVE just to get your levels up to progress in Personal Story annoys me

Good one
Events do get harder, but yes they are zergy; however, dungeons are not. They require the PvE skill needed more so than WoW.- Daily events are just huge zergs most of the time.... there's no skill/strategy involved. Just stand around, autoattack the objectives and get free exp. More so the fact they are repeatable and are a very efficient way to abuse free levels (I went 30-40 in 1 day just by abusing daily event chains)
I have multiple weapons and I also change different skills depending on what I want to do. Different skills are suited for different activities.- You unlock your core skills by around Lv30~, and the system encourages you to pick a set of skills you like and build towards that. From lv30-80 you are spamming the same skills
Fair point, but past 70 the hearts go away and it becomes more dynamic events and whatnot.- Hearts are the same thing over and over, nothing really special about them... I'd say they are more repetitive than questing in WoW
Some people like that, some people hate it. =/- Lack of a true Tank/Healer/DPS system.... I don't know, I currently get 1.5 Silver per an event plus a whole lot of salvageable or crafting materials. Money is a little sparse, though.- The game becomes more expensive to play as you get higher level. Waypoint travel costs go up, repair costs go up... and without mounts, you can become very broke trying to get across the world later on in the game, and the rewards don't scale accordingly to reimburse you for that
So I've been reading a bit about GW2 because I think I want it. Can someone explain what the point of personal story is, though? And dynamic events?
oh god i just bought it
