Why would it be "better"to ban Christians from gun shops? He would lose business that way.
Besides, he did not "ban" anyone from his shop at all. He had a sign up. And someone was offended by a sign.

if he wanted to make his business better he wouldn't make it a muslim free zone, so it's not about losing or gaining business

As I have pointed out before, only 0.9% of Americans are Muslim. I have no idea what the demographics are in his area. Even if he were to refuse to sell to every Muslim in America he would be only missing out on less than 1% of the population. I would imagine he more than made up those sales up in free advertising when CAIR, in their infinite wisdom, sued him. He actually got the last laugh.

However, that .9% probably does not legally obtain firearms, although some may. The .9 is more than offset by the cost of advertising, of which he paid nothing for, which no doubt garnered his shop extra attention and extra customer traffic and flow. In fact, it gained him national attention. If not, international attention.
Personally, I did not even watch the video. I just read the article and have read articles concerning the case in the past. But, it would not surprise, me if he had hired a marketing company/consultant to help him with the production of it.

That first sentence looks like a blatant equivalent to racism, which is unusual for such a slippery slider. What am I missing?

Also, you admit you don't know the demographics of the area, when there could be a high concentration of Muslims, and indeed they could very well have been the majority of his customers. He could've lost quite a bit of business with that sign, regardless of whether or not all this publicity made up for it, which is also an unsubstantiated claim, though more reasonable.

You can argue either side when you don't actually know....
