Fanatic's Guide to Dagger Rogues

ive killed several paladins, priests and magez with this setup. Thanks again Fant. :)

hey man nice guide
<

how is sentinel's blade for ally Rogue, is that any good?

I like Sentinel's Blade but I prefer double BOA over anything if you can't get ahold of an Impish Blade. Reason being, the BOA dagger not only offer's some much needed hit but also supplies nice crit rating to make up for the slower attack speed and higher top end Impish Blade offers. I myself will use 2x BOA from time to time.

This setup is unforgiving, and like I said in my guide there is a certain balance you need to maintain and not many thing's of the core setup can be substituted.

i prefer waylay, though 50% RNG is still RNG.

also, you've left out Ranged Weapon slot.

Waylay is great for 1v1 and most random PUG situation's. I actually am running it right now because I'm doing alot of pugging, but in a more structured offense I'll take Initiative over Waylay just because of the shear quickness you can get 5 combo point's after opening up on an EFC to set yourself up for a nice 5CP Eviscerate that can almost be too much for healer's to handle.

Fixed Ranged weapon slot. Thanks for pointing that out.

whats the point of choosing the boa dagger over the tail spike?

tail spike gets you one more point of top-end damage on a slower weapon, one more agility, and the same amount of crit.

it's also easier to obtain. i'm seriously doubting the viability of your guide.

Tail Spike is nice and can be over looked but the hit on the BOA is why I choose it over anything out there. I've tested everything and BOA even though it doesnt have the agility and the top end the lack of hit if you can't get the perfect balance can be troubling. in a perfect world yes, Tail Spike would be a perfect choice. Tail Spike becomes BIS after the aquisition of Dread Pirates Ring.

I'm glad to clarify any questions about any decisions I've made.

Is there another type of headgear that you suggest if you can't get the BoA helm? I can't get [Azure Scale Vest], Impish Blade and [Sludge-Caked Throwing Knives] because it's only obtainable on the horde. Is there any other gear that alliance could get?

Or what would be better is that could you give me a gear list that a Alliance rogue should have and can get.

What do you prefer, Minor Speed, +7 Stamina or +7 Agility.

At the moment I have 2 [Sharpened Scarlet Kris], the [Charmed Ancient Bone Bow], [Stained Shadowcraft Spaulders]/[Exceptional Stormshroud Shoulders], [Stained Shadowcraft Tunic], [Inherited Cape of the Black Baron].

throat pierces instead of charmed ancient bone bow imo and then keep the same

edit: and minor speed ftw

Sorry, I've been a little inactive the past week..Let me answer some questions.

For helm's pick up a [Lucky Fishing Hat] but strive for the BOA Helm. Since you are unable to aquire [Azure Scale Vest] use [Stained Shadowcraft Tunic] and pick up 2x [Tail Spike] to make up for the crit you lose by not having Azure Scale and hit you gain by using the BOA chest. Also scrap the bow for [Throat Piercers].

Like I said before this spec can't handle substitutions well.. you need the right balance to make this setup hold any weight. If you are serious about having a dagger setup I would make the effort to get the BIS slots filled.

So basically Impish > Scout's Blade simply because of the hit rating?

Impish also give higest topend because of the 1.8 speed.

This.
