F2P Tales of Woe [Lost Need Rolls, PvP, etc]

This isn't about losing rolls, but I suppose losing time is roughly similar.

I was fixing my UI, went about cleaning up for unclutteredness, and also rebinding abilities for effectiveness (IE, ShS has no GCD, so any ability following ShS should be able to be hit at the exact same time that ShS is activated).. meaning my ShS of T and gouge of Shift A does not really work out too conveniently.

So, after about three hours of messing around on the UI, I went to que for a BG to start practicing my new binds, UI, finding mistakes and whatnot. Upon hitting the "que WSG" button, I discover that roughly 2hrs45m before, my internet stealth disconnected and I lost all of the work I had put into my UI.

Lost a Ring of Precision to a leveling rogue on a BFD run. It was on my paladin, so it doesn't sting quite as much as it might...but I still wanted it for my collection.

Also, I've been tormented for months now about not having this snazzy cloak for transmogrification. It would have been perfect for my paladin, but at the time of my doing the quest I chose a different reward.

During Hallow's End, a 24 on my server with whom I often queued shelled out something in the area of 2500g in order to pay a group of 85s to help me get the HH kill. Of course, they messed it up, and I was left without the title, having wasted a boatload of my friend's gold. That still makes me feel awful.

I've got a few, I got ambassador from running mainly randoms BEFORE getting cloak of the bandit >.< Never seen Ring of precision on a trial, but got it right away on my paying account rogue that I was leveling, not twinking. I was out of town during Halloween so I'm not hallowed. Haven't got albino eyegouger on my main hunter, but got one 1st time on my hunter that I don't care about (there were 3 eyegougers in her 1st run >.<) And several quests I've completed and taken wrong reward for xmogging. Mainly I want the boots from the quest that gives pre boa bis shoulders.

And this isn't a bad thing, but just REALLY unlikely and weird: after I got agility pot recipe, next day I found another, after I got swiftness pot recipe, next day I got another, and when I got mechanical squirrel box schematic SAME day I got another... how randomly implausible is that!??!? I'm betting that I'll get 2 standard scopes if I ever get one.

Oh wait, this isnt a tale of woe...

I've been gearing a warr, farming satchels. 36 satchels and I still don't have the one i want. Logged my mage and got it first try.

I am full of QQ woe. Woe I say. ^^

Being in the middle of a BG with two capable priests and about 80k heals between us, never mind their shields and the damage absorbed, and the top 6 damage spots taken by alliance, and someone insults our priests by name, because 'their healing sucks' and 'we have no heals'.

And the usual sob story of having someone with 487 HP (with fort) pick up the flag while there's someone with 1904 right behind. Getting the pick when he drops but immediately dying in the cluster of eight enemies. A faint shimmer of hope and an even greater feeling of despair when it is crushed.

Well screw whoever said that. I <3 your heals and appreciate them very much

Wow, thank you!
<
I <3 your heals too! And your FCing!

I didn't even get insulted. I was offended because the priests were putting in honest effort and weren't doing bad at all. People always forget to account for good shielding. Heals can't win a game if there is no damage.

Not related to f2p but saw sf drop on my rogue last year and lost it to a boa hunter.

Speaking of low-HP flag carriers, I've lost count of how many times a 500-ish HP druid took the flag, ran away from the support in travel form, ran directly into the horde FC mob, died, and complained about how we "let him die."

I've seen that quite often, myself. "Our healers suck" in a game where the healing on our side is pretty amazing. After inspecting the accusers in these situations, I've found that it's usually the semi-geared players (700-800ish HP, a few BiS pieces, a few WTF pieces) that happened to get insta-gibbed and, because it should be unthinkable that their character should ever even come close to death, they just start bitching.

And after having a few serious, non-flamatory discussions with the 500 HP PVPers about why they don't gear up at all, this conversation sums up their thinking the best:

Non-geared player: "How can we compete with them when they all have over 1,000 HP?"

Me: "It's actually not that hard to get 1,000 HP unbuffed."

NGP: "How so?"

Me: "There are several quest rewards, dungeon drops, and satchel rewards that can get you to 1,000 HP before you need to start grinding honor for heirlooms."

NGP: "Oh. Well, I'm not twinking."

Me: ...

If you're not going to make any effort to gear up, don't be surprised when you get rocked by the people who do.

By the way, Axe of the enforcer has the same/similar chance of dropping as RoP.

I hate BoP Zone loot. T_T

Just checking these forums out, first, CONGRATU****INGLATIONS FELIX, I don't know why that wasn't made into it's own thread (cough cough do it). Second, clearly instead of Shft's RNG it's my added luck (since my days of running BFD are over) to Felix's that got him the ring. =) Anyhow, def gratz on that.

10/12 for AGM on my mage (non AP server)
last night I saw an 85 blood elf DK with shitty gear at the arena a couple minutes before the chest would come out. he came over to me and started to say "hi!" a lot, and then said "you can have trinket ^_^" I couldn't respond, so I just ignored him :p
anyway, I started to loot it, and he proceeded to kill me. I then saw him say "that's for not saying hi to me."

then, this morning I log into the arena again, and I see him again. he comes over to me and says "I figured you'd be here, I'm not going to let you get it."

note: I now know that 85s can see our emotes. I should have done /hi or /thank >_<
