Not quite sure where it is as i wasn't able to find it but with Lofi @ Aerie Peak - Game Guide - World of Warcraft it seems like all rankings or stats maybe thrown out the window unless a character only achievement thing you're talking about is used. Just waiting for a trial to get their accounts merged and get US first bloodthirsty cause their 85 and take away what I've been trying to get :/

This is promising, although it requires everyone who wants to be listed on PvE rankings to check this option in-game. I just selected it for Lofi and my achivs went from 6025 to 2860. Now I had 3120 before 5.0.4, so it seems those achievements that are now part of account-wide achievements are no longer counted.

I will also need to update how I capture the statistics, as achievements cannot be used to track number of companions, etc. The "Vanity pets owned" statistic still shows per character, however "Mounts owned" statistic is account-wide. Also, I suspect there will be more changes to the armory in coming days/weeks as they get fully cut over to 5.0.

I can add a check for some very common / very easy account-wide achivs, and use it as criteria to disqualify people from the PvE listings. For instance any of the honorable kill achievements could be used to flag accounts as not displaying only character achievements.

It seems the PvP and WSG rankings are largely unaffected, as most (but not all) the statistics on the armory are per character and not account-wide.

Anyways you can expect it will take a little while until I have everything updated for 5.0.4. In meantime you can display only character achievements to guarantee you are still listed in PvE rankings whenever I have time to do the update.

Maybe separate categories. Single character accounts, pure F2P, even if linked with other F2P, and F2P linked to P2P. Someone with horde and ally pets for example can probably hit 75 even as F2P. If you've linked but hide your account wide achievements, you lose the mount achievements, and a few others, which puts you at a disadvantage.

I'm on 3,405 unlinked right now, and while there's a few more I could get, I'm not planning to try anymore, so that's it for me. I lost interest a while ago, and this new patch has just replaced hunters with holy paladins, so nothing to change my mind. When Blizz offer panda trials I'll log in to my other characters for the mounts etc. and might play around a little, but it wouldn't bother me too much if I miss out on the panda trial.
 
Just a quick update.. I will be busy the next week or two, but plan to update the listings soon.

Here are the changes I'm planning on implementing:
1) Achievement point lists will be "grandfathered".. The final 4.3.4 achiv listings will be kept as a historical reference (in one of the bottom posts)... with all the original data.
2) PvP/WSG rankings will continue to be updated, and am open to adding a 3rd ranking. Take a look at what's available in armory and let me know if you come up with some decent metrics.
3) I will remove the tracked gear that is no longer BiS for any class/spec (DS, IVY, possibly MM and AXE). Argas ring for Horde will be counted a GF'd item.

I gots a possible idea for a new list/ranking. Seeing we (maybe just I am) are unaware of how the pet system will work or if it'll just be another thing account wide stuff ruins maybe like a ranking of best pets or most collected or best pet win ratio? lol idk just somethings I'm throwing out there :p we'll see in MoP if it's possible though

This is directly from a customer support memeber after I had recently opened a ticket about the Diabolical Plans not dropping. I had read that this quest was no longer obtainable and a few players were telling me that they had looted the item earlier in the day. It seems as of patch 5.0 the droprate has drastically went down. So for those of us who are looking to get the twink ring, good luck and happy farming those demons! lol

The argas ring drops, but not for horde. (It's alliance only now)
 
Argas quest no longer gf'd for horde i think it dropped for me today on my horde char after 18th kill i think blizz fixed the quest

I saw the post about Argas Ring, it's no longer grandfathered. I tried to update the rankings last weekend but ran into some issues. I'm on vacation this week and will work on an update when I'm back home.
 
It still shows the time all these people put into their toons and the effort into getting w/e achievements that are possible for trials. It is still a great place for any new trials trying to find out which achieves are/arent possible possible. The achievement rankings isn't gfd as lofi could make a trial only list taking out any linked accounts which wouldn't take as much effort as it did for lofi creating this whole list.

I'd hate this to be unstickied and just go down to the bottom of the news feed and be lost in all those page 5 threads.
 
Yea, don't un-sticky this thread. Its too valuable of a twink data base. So many armories of good twinks is a great source of data for any beginner player. And most people don't have P2Ps anyway so like lil says, its a good source to see what achieves F2Ps can get. One more thing, once it get updated, it will once again be a great place to reference for bragging rights. Such a great thread, I would hate to see it go to waste.
 
Updated the PvP and WSG rankings. Moved pre-MoP PvE Rankings to legacy rankings post in bottom of front page. Plan to add back PvE rankings soon (with account-wide achievements).

I could separate caps and returns, I mostly just merged them to reduce number of lists. Ideally I would like to add a top healers ranking as well, but there are no good metrics on armory.

I don't agree with separating "pure F2P", for a number of reasons:

  • F2P linked to P2P is still free-to-play, and does not rely on paid subscription (players can also use Scroll of Resurrection to freelly add mounts/pets from old accounts)

  • Logistically it's difficult to tell if a trial is linked with other accounts
  • Many players have linked their trials with paid accounts, and I don't want to discourage players from doing so. Why not take advantage of many nice account-shared mounts, pets and titles?

I am planning an update with account-wide achievements PvE rankings as a test. It will be interesting to see who's on top, although I'll change the criteria if there are too many undergeared players.
