F2P Mumble Channel / Voice Communication

Thank you for your effort PLEYA! Very cool!

You're welcome, and thank you for making it possible! :)

my oh my! can't wait to spread the word about mumble, and to download it for myself.

Thanks for helping spread the word! Doing so is the only way of getting a good amount of people to constantly be in the channel since most F2Ps don't regularly visit TwinkInfo.

Back when I hardcore raided we ditched ventrilo for mumble due to it's low latency. Very few people use mumble for some reason. I can't comprehend why.

Teamspeak 3 and Mumble have absorbed pretty much all of the Ventrilo users over the past years due to Ventrilo having halted development.
And I think Teamspeak 3 has simply become the more popular option because it is better known. Unlike Mumble, Teamspeak 3 is a for-profit-software so they have the money to run advertisement and boost visibility. Mumble on the other hand is open-source, meaning you're free to do pretty much whatever you want with it and it's free, they aren't making any money so the only publicity it gets is from mouth to mouth recommendations.

Most of the people who know what they are doing go with Mumble, it's the better software and server-space is much cheaper. But most people looking to get a server for their clan have no idea what they are doing so they just go with the first option that comes to their mind, which would be Teamspeak 3 because they are more likely to have heard of or used Teamspeak before instead of Mumble.

Gonna install this and give it a try tomorrow (away, using mobile). Looks neat, and thanks for setting up a second part of info for new users :)

No problem. And feel free to post here if you have any questions! :)

Mumble is sick, most top tier RBG/raiders use it. So much better than Skype, except most people don't have it :/ Def +1

Mumble is pretty cool! Thank you donators and Pleya for allowing this to work out. If possible, please add a Nazgrel server, it'd be really nice. Thanks.

Bump to get more people :((((

I was away for about 10 days, thus unable to bump the thread and I see it has sunk a bit.
Several people have pointed it out and I too think that the thread should be stickied. It has sticky-worthy written all over it and our two donors payed a tidy sum to give our community the ability to enjoy this service. So if a forum moderator or admin sees this; the fulfillment of this request would be much appreciated.

Also, I will from now on try to posting a weekly graph showing the amount of people on the server during the past week. I think some people might find it interesting. The numbers below the graph mark the date and they are positioned at 12:00 UTC (7:00 AM EST).
Now here are the stats for the last week:

I just saw the previous posts and I'm sorry about being so late. If the server is getting a good number of people logging on, then I see no reason not to spread the word about it.

Thread is stickied!

I just added the actual address of the server below the Address: F2PWoW.ga in the topmost post. It is a really rare occurrence but sometimes the domain (F2PWoW.ga) which reroutes you to the actual IP (85.236.109.242) when connecting, goes down and during that time you're unable to connect to the server with the F2PWoW.ga domain. It doesn't affect you if you're already connected, you simply won't be able to join the server during that time.

Just putting this out there in case anyone ever gets the "Server connection failed: Host not found."-message when trying to connect.
The only thing you need to do in that case is change the address for the server.
