Money for their own account, if they want to spend subscription time helping a F2P that's fine. But they are the one paying for their time and you aren't. It's not a physical gift anyway.

and you can breathe both oxygen and carbon dioxide, it's not the same. Running an instance or quest with someone who is also pure F2P can also be considered a gift from them.

OK guys, quite a nice conversation here, I wouldn't even call it an argument like in (erhm erhm dont go back to the bad times) thread. Everyone has their opinion, and actually I agree both with [MENTION=16240]Goesid[/MENTION] and [MENTION=18908]Krukthor[/MENTION] , because they both have a point.
Krukthor says that Free-to-play, PURE Free to play ends at point when anyone pays blizzard directly - whatever is it buying cards (yes, they benefit from TCG) from other people, buying stuff from Blizzard store, or getting the same stuff from other people - when I get some free time I could consult with some people and make a thread about pure / unpure stuff.
Goesid says, if I got him correctly, that the whole pure / unpure thing is a mess, and I agree. The line that is between those two is very slim. He adds subscription to unpure f2p stuff, so when anyone helps you, and is p2p, you are no longer pure - whatever is it precious ribbon, deathcharger boosted from dungeons or Classic Raider achievement.
Now, everything is about naming.
Pure ver. 1 - Everything that involves paying Blizz directly and gaining the benefit instantly counts as unpure: (TCG, Blizz store, linking to p2p)
Pure ver. 2 - Everything that involves paying Blizz counts as unpure: (TCG, Blizz store, linking to p2p, getting helped by p2p (in situations impossible or very hard for f2p like ribbon or sporeggar rep), getting anything from your p2p moved to f2p (eg. enchants).
Pure ver. 3 - Everything that involves paying counts as unpure - I think that this is stupid version, because it could lead to absurd like "alololololol you got new computer, you filthy pay!"

butttt what if u stealllllll the tcg card from the box...... you are still f2p as you havent put money in but you also happen to have a nice mount or something
What if you steal prepaid game cards and get free subscription time? That's kind of ridiculous to still consider that Free To Play even though it technically is, but since you're still linked you really can't just prove to us online that you "haven't" paid money on subscription time. Everyone just assumes you haven't stolen anything and that's a different topic anyway.

Oh sorry, I considered it a little different than the previous discussion we had about (assumingly legal) Free to Play. But by the way I will agree your "Pure. Ver 3" is pretty much impossible to do because you had to have paid for something, maybe internet service or your first computer (excluding stealing). Also you need a mage port or Warlock Summon from a P2P to get to Outlands so you can get Sporeggar rep, but once you get there it IS possible to farm the rep yourself, either by stacking hit gear as a resto druid and soloing one at a time or just kiting the mobs to Sporegar so the guards themself will kill them while still giving you rep, but that'd still be insane.

F2P DK should be able to learn Mechano-Hog - Item - World of Warcraft or Mekgineer's Chopper - Item - World of Warcraft from Blingtron4000.

I'm a little late to this thread, but I think I can answer this. Although I haven't tried a 10 day trial, I have warlocks on both a free and paid account. The Dreadsteed does not even appear on my mount list from the free account. It appears you must be a level 40+ warlock to ride the Dreadsteed.

If I get the 50 mounts achievement what will happen will it go in the mail or in my bag? and can I ride it on my 20.

Yes, new change allows you to ride almost all of the flying mounts on your trial account.
I have a p2p account linked with f2p acc and from 6.0.2 I can ride all those flying mounts as well
