Semi-fresh news straight from Blizzard's mouth:

Hey Everybody!


I’m here to talk to you about gaining experience from PvP in Wrath of the Lich King Classic.

We’re going to re-introduce experience gain based on honor earned as well as the ability to turn off all experience gains, but we’ve decided not to bifurcate the matchmaking queue based on that feature.

To summarize:

  • We’re restoring the ability to gain experience from PvP activities at the same rate present in patch 3.3.5
  • We’re restoring the ability to turn off your experience for 10g from Behsten and Slahtz in Stormwind and Orgrimmar and respectively.
  • We are not bifurcating the queue, and players who have turned off experience will continue to matchmake in the general pool so that everybody has the highest chance of finding a match.

I hope these changes help keep low level battlegrounds alive in Wrath of the Lich King.

Apparently, this news has been received with mixed reactions, with some saying that twinks ruin low level pvp. I, for one, am happy that all the people who complain about separated xp-on and xp-off queues have a place to go to now so they can stop xp-debuffing

I have 3 -19s 1 29 mage 1- 39 pod tidal charm shamie - building a 60 warriorand 60 pali atm and leaving my 70 shaman in full pvp gear at 70. this is the best news ive heard in a while

played 6 20s bgs this morning. every game was won by who had more hunters. if you play hunter on retail 20s you are trash. I will stay out of 20s with this news. its not worth quing into scumlord hunters - after this mornming I honestly hope all the dickweed hunters start crying about 30 min ques and only facing other hunters.

This unironically might happen to retail. The never ending hunter buffs just push more and more people to succumb to the hunter madness. They either consider quitting or make their own hunter which of course just compounds the problem. Wrath having every single bracket be non-segregated will 100% steal people from retail for low level pvp.

Good luck queueing without them, only way to get a 39 going is going on discord and hoping people logon.

How many times did u attempt to "revive" the 39 community on warmane? Which all failed in the end.

partially true.
a hybrid system'd be the best - as long as there's enough population to sustain segregated games these should have priority, but should those fail to pop it'd create a mixed game
 
So how much has one missed not having touched TBC classic at all? Will there be grandfathered stuff and whatnot?

Or did WotLK change that anyway? I really dont remember....

Classic WoW was broken from the start, so all of the items listed in this thread are considered GF'd:

Other than that, iirc 3.3.5 was Blizz's slap in the face to twinks, so maybe the red letters on your shoulder/head/leg chants can be considered GF'd.

I think the biggest grandafthering in woltk will be for new lvl 60 twinks, missing out on Naxx40 gear and T3 items. But then again, full T3 60s might get dominated by lvl 69s in NR gear.
 
I forgot about the armor kits and whatnot being nerfed... kind of makes it easier to approach casually. AKA lazy.
