Just to point out, this is impossible for a F2P to get, Pickpocket isnt learned until level 24

so it sounds like:

1. Pickpocket mobs from Dragonblight on a higher level.
2. Unlock on the high level.
3. Send to the 17 to open.
4. Profit?

Okay. Let me clarify how i did it.

I started out farming in Icecrown, as i know of a spot there that's pretty busy with mobs and has a chance to drop the Decahedral Dwarven Dice which sells for a quick buck on AH.

I sent over the unlocked boxes to my level 20 rogue. I opened a chunk of boxes and found a couple of rings req level 19 ilevel 28. which made me think that the box was somehow scaling to level 25.

Hence why i swapped to Dragonblight. To pickpocket lower level mobs. i stayed in Dragonblight/Grizzly Hills for the rest of the farm. I kept flying around to areas that looked packed with humanoids.

I filled my bags to the brim with boxes. usually took me about 1hr and 30min ish to fill my bags with 144 boxes. I unlocked them all. Then i started sending to my level 17 instead.

After a while i got a Krol Cleaver. That was scaling correctly. so this lit a fire in me to continue. So i scrubbed in for like 15 hours farming almost non-stop. That is how i ended up with the blade.


The Char you pickpocket boxes on. has to be level 24+

The mob area you pickpocket in has to be between 15-30 (Possibly, unconfirmed 10-30)

You unlock the boxes on either char. and open them on a level 17. HAS to be a level 17.

AFAIK That is the closest to 20 we can get as you also said the next bump would be level 21/ilevel 29

totally want to try something like this to see what I can acquire ... I have a high level rogue but my twinks are mostly in the 10-15 range .. don't see many epics in that range except the Staff of Jordan but I don't think it comes from a box :/

I think you can scale it down to that level aswell tbh. You might aswell give it a try at level 10 it would be like ilevel 18 i think. So defo would be cool to try for that. i would go for Howling and Borean tundra
