Nothing particularly messy. We've seen stat squishes before and this one actually cleans up a lot of the straggling stuff that escaped the SL squish

I would argue that the original statsquish/lvl squish was the true messy part of the current state of thinking. Nice to see this change I def prefer the lower numbers. Hopefully the game play stays quick but we def needed to see some toning down lol

I wonder if everything below a certain ilvl / required level gets the stat squish, or if it only affects all pre-SL content.

And then if perhaps we can still reach similar stats as today by using the (potentially) accessible SL gear because every other expac has trash stats. A lot of maybes but curious to see how this plays out

It feels like they intended to revert the general feeling of how a character feels stronger the lower his level actually is.

not sure about the stat % of them (so like i have no clue if its still the same tert needed to get to 10% in speed for example) but i think tert stats also have been nerfed

sadly SL isn't on the beta yet to test, I'm a bit worried tbh blizzard breaks promises a lot and I have a feeling we won't be seeing SL until the last 2 weeks or so

Yeah that’s like a 60% nerf to tert rating as well. Will have to check on overall %s for speed/leech but I can’t see gaining the same overall % that we did before, as we almost certainly ate now being graded on a new rating scale

btw keep reporting starter edition xpoff merge lol. It’s the opposite direction of what they decided on for classic. Can’t be right.

also report balefire/destiny. While 30 mainstat doesn’t seem like a lot now, it will still hurt

Why Destiny? There is no bug related to it.
I get why I should be careful flexing a socketed Balefire ( ) But imagine being reported for just having a normal item???

Destiny proccing in the same neighborhood as crusader seems reasonable, honestly.

afaik destiny str buff really doesn’t scale depending on level. A level 40 version would have more of less the same proc effect that a level 17 version has for instance.

It should scale, same goes for balefire I believe

Given the stats squish, TBC gears may be better than before as the gems aren't squished AND that tert on BOE is also nerfed. Sell your i28/i37 before DF...

walder has 6 speed on live, that translates into 5% speed at 20 but only 3% in images above.

this means it is now a lot harder to hit the softcap for speed.

edit. I guess this is the same deal that 10s have with terts and scaling as well. I guess for 10s you can’t really nerf 1 rating any further so terts might be stronger there for them.

Speed Belt and Speed Trinket give me 4 rating and 3.8% speed on beta

Those same two items give me 10 rating and 8.9% speed on live

basically, people will start using 2 primary stat + 2 stam gems (some already do that even on live)
