My experience: I have had 6 Shipyards up and running (very casually) since October. I aimed to have around 2-3 subs, battleships, 1-2 destroyers / transports and 1 carrier. I didn't even acknowledge crews or anything and I rarely swapped around equipment. I had no clue what I was doing besides treasure missions to get my Shipyards up to level 3.

Last week I got all of my Shipyards up to level 3. At that time I did every treasure mission in the Southwest corner of the map and the Northeast corner of the map on every toon. On the same day I had the Strength Ring on my mage in the morning available so I bought two Ghostly Spyglasses and when I got home from work, I had: the Intellect Ring on my Death Knight available, the Agility Ring on my Paladin, and another Strength Ring on my Druid.

The three missions were only 91 - 92% chance but I got all 3 rings with no need to repeat the Strength Ring mission for a second attempt.

Not sure if pure RNG luck but I did read they upped the RNG chance in getting rare missions and decreased the chance of a ship being destroyed (I haven't had a single one become destroyed since the patch)
 
I managed to nab 2/3 pre-patch. The night after the patch, the last one popped up.
 
i literally got my strength ring the first day and i was maining warrior at the time, i do believe i was the first twink to have a boa ring

All I ran was one shipyard. I ran 8 NE crews, a Murlock crew and an Arrakoa crew. I would estimate it took me over 1500 missions to get all three of mine. I got my first ring within weeks of getting being able to get the then. And then it took months and months to get the last two. Those last two came within a week of the buff patch. I then swapped four of the Night Elf crews in for Gnome crews for the extra gold input. I may swap one or two more.

Yeah you're probably right, my shipyard is still lvl 2 because I'm a lazy ass lol.
Yeah it's kinda sad but saves us all the time to actually make our ingame objectives.
 
Took me forever to get the first, but after that the other 2 popped up pretty quickly.
 
I got my int ring right off the bat, which was fine with Purj being my main. The agi one came about 3 weeks later, and I got the strength one just a few weeks ago now.
