For every class and spec you can safely stack vers hard over all, that's one thing for sure
you shouldn't focus three no

it depends on your play style I suppose, you'll be a lot slower and easier to counter if you stack crit, but if you're able to get a cast off you'll do some nice damage

if you stack haste you'll probably have more sustainability and you'll be able to shoot out spells fast, aswell as cast fast fears

honestly there's not much reason to go crit over haste, i'd just say stack haste. But depends on your playstyle I guess
Okay, versatility all the way, then either haste or critical strike, but not both. Guess, I'll make myself a little list for both possibilities, get geared up, and try both then. Thanks for the advice!

Too bad, I am EU.
So I'm working on a nice little list, but I come across some problems. For the necklace's, I narrowed it down to the following three: Hook Charm Necklace, Hematite Tortoise Pendant and Brilliant Necklace, which one should I pick out of these? I also read somewhere there is a better necklace, do you know of it?
Secondly, is there some list of the possible suffix and thus stats of the items that you can get from Battlegrounds?
And for now, lastly, I've got two items right now, the difference between them is 5 critical strike on the one, 4 haste and 1 versatility on the other. For the priority with haste secondary I know which one to pick, but which one should I pick for the stat priority with critical strike, I guess the first one?

yeah aite fosho

you can get necklaces from the random dungeon bags, you'll want "Tumultuous Necklace of the Aurora"

yeah so for suffixes there are a number you can get at level 20

Of the Quickblade - Crit at vers 2ndary stats, these stats alone can roll, you might have the exact same item, for example bg rare bracers of the quickblade but both can have different stat roles. this is important and works with aurora and fireflash. You might have 4 vers and 1 crit, or 3 vers 2 crit, etc.

Of the Aurora -
Haste and vers

Of the Fireflash -
Crit and vers (fucking garbage delete / sell every fireflash piece you get no spec uses fireflash at this level)

SOLID STATS

so albeit these are much rare than the single others. in fact I don't think anyone has ever gotten a full set of bg rare solid stats

Of the Adaptable - Solid vers stat.
upload_2018-11-12_10-22-35.png
basically the ultimate bis piece for any spec.
Of the Impatient - Solid haste stat. same deal, gives full haste
Of the Decimator - Solid crit stat.

I have one of each piece in Hvnter's bags but only have adaptable equipped to show you because i'm not at my home pc rn

Some things to note

  • Adaptable, Impatient, and Decimator are only obtainable from bg crates as of this moment
  • Adaptable, Impatient, and Decimator suffixes can also come in green bg gear counterparts, they don't have to be rares.
  • Quickblade, Fireflash, and Aurora can be found on green boe pieces. as you can see
    upload_2018-11-12_10-26-47.png
  • If a green piece is scaled to level 20, as the one seen above, they can be just as good, if not better than bg rare pieces
  • Only bg pieces can have solid stat suffixes
I'm not 100% on what you mean by your last bit.

If I get a pair of bg rare bracers that has +4 vers for example, I normally wont pay mind to the secondary stat because itll only be a +1, wont really have any effect on that secondary stat. 4 vers is pretty much as close to adaptable as you can get without it being adaptable, idk if this answers your question at all, if it didn't reword it please i'll be able to answer the best I can

Thanks for the info.
My lists mostly only consists of dungeon/quest gear, so my last question is, in this case, about two leg items: Gaze Dreamer Pants and Leech Pants. Now my question is: Which one should I use for the list with haste secondary, and which one for critical strike secondary?

I don't have the stats of these pieces memorized, but my general rule of thumb and most others rule is to never let your secondary focus overrule your vers count. If theres more crit / haste on the piece that vers try and avoid using it

I posted the stats earlier, one has 5 critical strike more than the other, and the other has 4 haste and 1 versatility more than the one.

are the stats 5/5? most pieces have a fixed amount of secondary stats they can have, for example, for legs, they can have a total of +10 secondary stats, you can get a 5/5 piece and you'll do fine
[doublepost=1542037781,1542037719][/doublepost]heres a f2p lock, some gear is gfed, but hes using leech pants aswell.

Gaze Dreamer Pants : 5 Critical Strike + 4 Versatility
Leech Pants: 4 Haste + 5 Versatility
I guess, because that character is an affliction warlock, the focus will be on haste.

focus can be just as much haste / vers as destro i'd say

generally crit sucks unless you're like a huntard but idk much about lock to go straight out and say you shouldn't use it

So, what you are actually saying, go with versatility > haste > critical strike?
I did just see that @Chops has a warlock, could you perhaps give an enlighting comment?

It's difficult to give you an exact stat priority as it can change from player to player.

In pvp one of the restrictions you have compared to pve is interruptions. Now if you stack haste you will reduce the risk of you being interrupted and in turn get more casts off. It will also reduce your global cooldown which is very useful for affliction to multidot efficiently.

Here's a breakdown of the difference each stat will have:

Versatility & Haste

You will be tankier. Your spells will hit quite hard & you will be able to cast quickly.
You will have average crit chance.
Most Warlocks pick this stat priority.

Crit Strike & Haste
This will give you the best dps as a Destruction Warlock. You will able to cast quickly but you will also be very squishy.
This would be the best stat priority for pve and dungeon runs.

Crit & Versatility
This will allow your chaos bolt and conflagrate to hit really hard. However you will cast slowly and you will leave yourself open to be interrupted easily or your targets might be able to range you before you finish them.
This will be the best stat priority if you want to see big numbers. Only really works for Destruction.

If I was making a level 20 Warlock I'd either go full stam, versatility and haste to be a fear bot that multi dots everything. Or I would go full Intellect, Crit and Versatility, hitting really hard but suffering when my instant casts are down and I have no Backdraft.

I think those two specs are the most viable. Pick either or go for both.

ignore my gear, actually. It's all out of wack, I was trying something out and forgot to change things around. I'll update it later.

But I play as affliction, not destro. And I'm not a good warlock. But with that in mind...

I gear for vers > all on all my f2p toons. We're at such a huge disadvantage without enchants that anything I can do to keep myself alive is good. Sometimes, the item with the most vers doesn't have haste on it. I pick it anyway.

I also gear for haste, so long as I can keep my fear cast time around 1.5 seconds.

All that is too basically sit in the back, spreading dots and fearing healers. If people see you hard casting, you're toast. And nothing says "please come one shot me" like a big green chaos bolt. So I avoid that.

That makes quite a lot of sense, thanks!
However, I guess you are talking about affliction warlocks here

hes f2p too, so yes technically this might give the most dmg output hes gonna want to stack vers because he'll be able to almost the same effect but hell have that damage reduc. I can pretty much agree with everything else you said though.

I understand, so now it seems that I am able to follow stat priorities listed on Wowhead or Icyveins, but I should always put versatility on the front.
I think I will be going with versatility > haste > critical strike, because that seems best right now. I will make a list of dungeon/quest/heirloom gear (at least no gear that is event-only) and post it here. I hope any of you can take a look at it and comment on it.

That makes quite a lot of sense, thanks!
However, I guess you are talking about affliction warlocks here ?

I'm talking about Warlocks in general.

You can go full versa + haste on destro and immolate everything you see while throwing out fears.
It really depends on your playstyle my dude, what feels right when you play the class.

It can be frustrating not being able to get casts off in pvp because it takes too long. That's why haste is such a valuable stat at the moment. However because destro has a couple of instant casts and backdraft haste might not be the style you're looking for.

I think that ultimately you need to realise that many stat options are viable. You have to decide what playstyle you enjoy and optimise your stats around that.
