Many of the people farming 20s gear will probably turn to farming 29s gear

There was nominal discussion on that last night as the news rolled in.
After we know more, & I've stopped reeling in existential grief; I... just don't know?!
F2P 20's is such a fantastic gamestyle. If the XPOFF Party-Debuff were to ALSO be removed, then I'd have no qualms about gearing a new stable of 19's & 29's; & i'd prbably have just as much fun doing it.
So long as that millstone hangs over a twink, it feels to me that we're not just alienating ourselves form the normal game for our own amusement, but ruining others' enjoyment through doing so.
The short answer: Nothing is going to happen until we recive official word that this will be the way of things from here on.

So everyone remembers this happened before... right? I just remember congratulating old 29 twinks on being the only X9 able to get games again. Maybe it was when they started vets? Cant recall, but it went back to f2play/vet back in normal queues eventually - likely will again.

Well... it's been what, a day? Two? Levelers dont scour the forums/website daily so unless they go all crazy about it in trade chat, there's not a whole lot of reason to think it wont be a while before people that wouldnt queue cuz "twinks" might try again. Though when they do, there will be all new "twinks" (heirlooms, AH gear, skill, etc.) to whine about but not dedicated, level-locked persistence.

I assume leveling alts will increase so could be a lot more activity before DF release...

Which means that queue pops will increase in speed and they'll miss you f2p's even less.

Levelers are never going to cry about twinks not being there unless their PvP bracket literally dies completely.

Queue times on a horde toon solo queue, near 6 p.m.:
xp on - 3 and 12 minute waits
xp off - 5 and 9 minute waits

A decent amount of old 25+ twinks and 20's like Hextasy showing up. Also a rare sight of a level 29 fistweaver. Fistweaver was actually second in KBs and 7th in damage. Larger toolkit, go figure he held his own against the top Alliance hunter.

I just played one on an old 59 (level 24 now) and it was like 3 mins queue horde side. Poorly geared 29 or 2, easy game.

Didnt intend on joining, was just checking if the 5 min average wait was accurate. Played awful, found my insignia, was ok.

weird all of my games have been 8 minutes + horde NA maybe blizzard is out tog et me or something lol. Earlier I got it i was queing in the morning on weekday so that might also be why.

Plenty of times ill make the freedom trinket and equip it only to forget to put it on my bar lol. ill be hitting my keybind for it and being like why isnt this working? when all I am doing is trying to equip a pve trinket instead lol.

29 melee feels like its on part with the 20 hunters at least... some stuff like arcane mage tho once they get geared are just gonna vaporize 20s... its gonna be like 500 to 600 a missile... you wont even be playing a game at that point at a 20.

Not sure how that would even happen. The stat difference between 25 and 29 isn't that big gear-wise. Any item you can get at 29 you can pmuch get at 25 as well, or at least the ones that increase spell damage enough to boost yourself up to that sort of damage.

sure queues are popping while everyones on trying to figure out whats going on, but what happens when theres less people on? we gonna just have 2 hour queues?

F2P 20s always fed the XP off 20-29, and 20-24 brackets from CATA thru WOD. with WOW severely down on player population ques were getting longer for my F2Ps, it was leveler's that helped filled many BGs, this helped and hurted BG gameplay.

with BG split again, 20-29 will still be alive due to F2P, Vet20s, and 21 to 29 twinks but with the levelers missing. this will make for some longer ques. times could get even longer depending on what F2P/vet20s will tolerate and wanting to Q

i think there will be certain times to que, but the 24-7 days imo, are gone. i could see a bracket que split where 20s don't play when the 29s are on, do not think the bracket will die, avoidance though will make ques severely long

Well, unless you can stay on 24/24 (but then wont get pops on those dead hours), it's pretty hard to avoid 29s as a 20. You don't know when they are on, and if u get 2-3 games vs them (when queues pop), and decide to stop qing ... as long as you start the game just for those BGs then what is even the point of entering the game if u can't have some fun.
