Combat Rogue

This is a great little spreadsheet - SUPER helpful -. since so many still use wicked dagger would you be able to add this for comparison sake?

Updated, thank ya

I didn't add Wicked at first since it's so crit heavy. None of these numbers account for crit. Would 1 more crit be better than 2 agility?... probably not. But it's not shown here either. This was mainly used to compare Shadowfang vs other weapons and which spec should be using which one.

*3.5 attack power per point of dps, took the middle of the weapon damage roll, no crit or haste figuring, this is strictly yellows. Shadowfang procs 5.5% per swing, taken from a wowhead comment (11/200 times). Numbers are just with weapons, your gear will increase these attacks. Gearing assumed to be the same for each spec.

Shadowfang MH for Combat/Sub. I'd probably take the 20 more Ambush over the 4 more Hemo. Depends how long you are out of stealth.
Tail Spike/Assassin's Blade for MH Assassination (take the crit, get your stamina from AGM/LFH.

OH you have some options, I ran some math on a sword vs dagger:

You get a lot more swings out of the dagger, which you can see. Ran over 100,000 seconds to remove any statistical errors. Even without the proc it does nudge it out. I'd have a hard time waiting 2.7 seconds for it to miss, but that might just be my own bias. The math says it's strong. You could make a claim about poison refreshes though...

I believe these calculations for damage done with daggers are incorrect.

The calculations do not add flat percentage for daggers.

i. e. Ambush for daggers would be 275% Normalized Weapon Damage * 140% Dagger Modifier. Currently, the formula you have is calculating 275% + 40% = 315% Normalized Weapon Damage for daggers which is why the damage numbers on Ambush are nowhere close to being as good as the non-daggers.

That's how I had it, and I changed it. I sure would like some clarity on what it should be. Blizzard is horrid with their tooltips, they are almost never grammatically correct. I went with this because of stuff like:

There is a new passive, named Critical Strikes, which increases chance to critically strike by 10%.

Which is completely wrong. That would mean if you had 5% base crit this passive would give you 5.5% crit not 15% like it does. So I assumed this was similar, if you have stats that say otherwise let me know (or if I get time to jump on a rogue tonight...) and I'll gladly fix, thank ya ;)

I definitely agree that Blizzard is horrid with their tooltips. I don't have any stats personally, have just read discussions and picked out the formulas I needed to do my own number crunching.

Just grabbing some from a google search yields Any number cruncher's out there ? - Forums - World of Warcraft and Simulationcraft results for WoD - Page 38

It also makes a bit more sense logically, otherwise we'd be seeing some dramatically different ambush figures from players using daggers vs non-daggers.

How do you eviscerate someone with a mace? That move should be named something else for combat...

Combat will do more damage with a slow mainhand and dagger offhand, yes. Warsong dagger > BoA daggers though

i remember when someone had to deal with stealth+ambush+ambush+shadowmeld+stealth+ambush+ambush :p
