Hello 19 community

If you are reading this thread, that must mean you have read both the original post MYT made and the comments. IF you have not, please go do so.

The conversations sparked from the different interests in the community really is what inspired me to create this thread, so shout out Hass, you killed it.

I would really love to implement a league of sorts, make it a quarterly thing so that seasons are short and to not drag things out too long. (up for discussion)

I would ideally like to start the league at the end of January and end the first season at the end of April.

(Taken from Hass's comment on OP w/ edits)
Ex:
- Going to contact guild teams who are in the guild directory and have noted they are premading.
- Play x number of matches within a month where a win is 3 points, tie after 1 hour is 1 point, and loss is 0 points
- Each guild has to play each other x matches min/maximum
- If a guild dodges/no shows a premade, -3 points for no show and +3 for their opponent (up for discussion)
- At end of the quarter, the top 4 guilds on the leader board with the most points does a best of 3 series and then that guild wins the "season"
- consumable rules etc...
- composition rules etc...
- safe spotting rules etc...

(Not sure if I want to do a ally & horde conference or just have teams make their teams on both ally and horde. The latter requires a lot of resources and time that some teams don't have and others do, which can create an imbalance, plus the honor farm takes time.)

Prizes as of right now are going to be none and alot of logistical rules will be implemented over time.

Roster size is also an issue I want to tackle, being that we will be playing a video game which involves accessible accounts (from nearly any location), I don't (ideally) want to see already exclusive/contracted players using accounts that are not exclusively theirs. Meaning, everyone needs to be accounted for to make this league a fun and competitive event for the community. AND we all know who plays for who at this point in time, its a somewhat tight knit community. Please respect the community.

Roster sizes. I would love to see teams coming in with at least 12 players minimum and 16 players maximum. (up for discussion)

I want games to actually happen so I think in order to ensure that we need larger team rosters (kind of like sports team roster) you should be allowed your 10 starters and 2-6 bench players and they can be switched throughout the season, but must be exclusive to the team they play for, player management is going to need some discussion when I know how many games can be played in a quarter and also have a way to keep teams true to the rules.

Rules will be on a team by team basis, where the mods of the event play witness to rules set and agreed upon by both teams participating.

Rules the I personally think should be implemented.
if 0-0 by 45 mins - TIE
If 1-0 by 45 min - 30 Min stoppage time (if nothing else happens, game over @ 1.25 hrs)
If 1-1 by 1hr (30 mins added to make a tie, last cap wins - up for discussion)
if game is really back & forth, then after 1hr every cap is +30 mins (2 cap max interval) and after 2hr +15 mins (2 cap max interval)
NO GAME should pass 2.5 hours.

(I'm entertaining the idea of adding a first to cap wins idea, let me know what you guys think. Could be a option for teams who want to compete but don't have much time to fight the stallers of the bracket)

I plan on editing the post as I figure things out and come up with better ways to enhance the overall experience with this IDEA.

I am also looking for moderators/organizers to help me tackle this task. (Ideally I'd like a mature member of each team competing and others not competing to help me in this venture) DM if you are interested. I will be reaching out.

Thank you guys
Please don't let this flop!!

p.s No shade to MYT, I personally just don't want anyone with a one-sided bias to be running this event. Especially when it has great potential. That being said Nasti if you want to help, I'll take it.

None taken. FYI I’m not as biased as you think - just doing my part to make sure we don’t let people manipulate us with a bunch of rules like they did in retail. Sometimes I have to take a hard line when debating to showcase the absurdity of the other side.

Someone else running the league sounds great and yes I’m happy to help. Also I voted against forcing teams to have both factions. Seems like you’d need to in case of a single tournament, but a round robin league is a different story.

Personally I think the time limits will shape the meta if implemented. You can build an entire comp around the turtle after first cap, etc.

"Rules will be on a team by team basis, where the mods of the event play witness to rules set and agreed upon by both teams participating."

but of course perhaps it wont be an issue, as your underlying rule is there are no rules except the ones we accept

Roster size? 16 players maximum? Why? to try and artificially create more guilds/teams? How does this work with having multiple characters or accounts? if I have a rogue and a warlock and decide for game 2 to sub out, can I switch characters but the team not switch players? I dont understand roster limitations for this.

The rules with the timers based off caps is bad and will just encourage turtles for team that is up, best way is to have Caps represent Points so teams are playing for Caps to get higher up on the leader board. Maybe have it also that you have to Win to get Win Points which can be say 3 or something and a Cap = 1 Point each. And if you lose you get no points unless you Cap then you get single point per cap.

And yeah guilds should have roster on both factions.

I mean it say players/individuals, not in-game characters. I want them large enough to never have the excuse that they didn’t have people (plus I want to see counter-comps) and not so large that we cripple the amount of potential teams.

I see, that I will have to reconsider and I might adapt a soccer like point system and use the caps to decide seeding or maybe even advantageS/disadvantages to make for interest match ups.
[doublepost=1578109929,1578093439][/doublepost]Bump,

I get that some people are hesitant about a league starting so soon, being that a lot of of whats to come is changing with the new additions in phases, but the reason I want to start it so early is to iron out the kinks now, so that we can grow with the bracket rather than try to catch up, if your team is not willing to play, that's fine, but you cant really claim to have beaten anyone if there is nothing scheduled nor if you dont have rules set.

Do it or dont, I don't care. I'm running the league regardless, if your team wants to compete I will know, if it does not want to, the bracket will know.

All I know is I only plan to have 1 main twink, it's just how I play. Forcing dual faction for twink cup is 1 thing (you need to be able to face off directly). For most though it makes leaguing completely inaccessible.

In any case Kudos for organizing anything : ) I hope it goes really well!

Initially I leaned more towards the dual faction requirement mainly because the team I'm playing for showed excitement in doing so because we want to be able to queue into both horde and alliance and just to get it out of the way in case we get called out by any horde guilds, but now I see both sides. Being dual faction creates more potential match-ups, but also restricts people who can't afford to do so, and being that I want to start in january can be the reason why it might not pan out to be dual-faction. I like the idea of Horde v. Alliance just to create more rivalries and more interest in same faction battles so if a TC pops up we have more interest to see who is really #1. It's really going to depend on how many teams I can get on each side.

Chill on it too soon. No interest from us at least.

if you got time, can you tell me why you feel it’s too soon?

All these people getting thirsty with no prior experience

Who are you referring to when you say “the people”? I don’t really understand what you’re trying to say, although I think I know what you mean.

It’s too soon because guilds haven’t even started regularly premading yet.

Leagues and cups are nice ideas when premades begin to become stagnant but obviously we are no where near that point.

If anything now would be the time to work out things for the community that are a step between normal pugging and organized premades so that there are fun games while we wait for everyone to be premade ready.

More than half our squad doesn’t have rank 2, librams, pouches, and AGMs yet.

That’s why it is to soon. :p

What burg and tom said pretty much. Everyone needs to just do their thing if we want games we know how to set it up.

Seems the general consensus of the people I've spoken with say it's too soon. Im going to read and participate in the threads to come about rules and tournaments to just stay up to date with the bracket.

I will make this happen, in the meantime, I am still looking for help. DM me here please. Thanks.

no prizes mean not everyone will take it seriously

this is the sad truth, hence i dont believe this will b succesful

I like the concept, may be too early but keep the convo going for sure

I definitely understand that and I’m super aware of this fact, but that’s really the point, for now at least. Nothing to lose, REAL bragging rights to gain, just like TC events. Except you’ll have a longer time to prove your the best, both consistently and bettering your community to further develop the competition. Some people don’t want others to get better, but all the good tinkers do, life is too short to play boring and stale metas forever, so we recycle old ones and try news all together. Hope to see you on a team and playing in this league or not, gl.
