Darksouls and Elden Ring do have their own pvp twinking scene, but in my humblest of opinions, it is even more rancid than WoW.twinking exists in games outside of WoW. Notably Diablo 2 has a decent twink dueling scene.
It's all dumb. Bring back my now level 9 shaman in a meaningful way, or kick rocks, blizzard. Too many changes in a short period of time make twinking too hard to sustain.

Exp off should be 20 or higher IMO. I'm all in favor of killing 10/11 Fury, Monks and Holy Priests.Looks like 11's are ground zero, but it seems that there will be some scaling tech unfurled, recognizing the potencey of one's gear in relation to thier level.
Players/toons with poor gear will feel 'tankier' while dripping toons will feel 'squishier'. No clue how this will play out, but... maybe it's time for some TW Grey kits?
That wouldn't kill it. It would just reduce it because twinks would go to level 20 on F2P accounts. Level 11 is substantially better but level 20 is still pretty good. We've seen this with level 70 twinks on accounts without TWW. I'm honestly tempted to not have Midnight on an account to have level 80 twinks in the next expansion. If they really wanted to they could kill twinking overnight by just disabling the ability to turn xp off.
They want to keep all the twinks on the gear treadmill just like max levels. Gotta keep those player engagement numbers up.

this didnt stop twinking in vanilla, tbc or wotlk and arguably wotlk was the golden age. though I agree, they should do this. The only people turning xp off are those interested in breaking the game or griefing other players. It would be a quick, easy solution to a ton of blizz's problemsIf they really wanted to they could kill twinking overnight by just disabling the ability to turn xp off.

Technically blizz could do both. Force everyone to 20 or 70. F2P cap and last expansion cap. Then eliminate methods for those “ xp-off “ players to participate in content like pve/pvp group finders.I don't think they should disable exp off, just saying they could. Personally I don't think it would be fair at this point to punish all the players who spent loads of time gearing up their twinks. I just think that their solution which punishes you for getting better gear in a gear-based RPG is dumb.
I'm not fully convinced that twinks running Group Finder dungeons is actually a big problem with the player-base, or if it's mainly a problem for blizz's ability to sell level boosts. They will probably piss off just as many people as they make happy if they nerf twinks. But if they really feel the need to do something, I think just disabling xp-off players from using Group Finder would be better than removing the xp-off system all together.
Although, as Cletus mentioned, this might just push everyone into 20s or 70s...I don't know what they could do about that.
I don't know about that.. loathing them as I do in group content, they are tremendously useful for batting trash for a target twink, or farming dungeons for... well, for anything.Exp off should be 20 or higher IMO. I'm all in favor of killing 10/11 Fury, Monks and Holy Priests.

True, they could, but I don't think they should. 70s are already paying a sub, not sure if many would continue paying if they couldn't even run group dungeons or pvp. And 20s need to be able to experience enough of the game to make them want to upgrade to a paid subscription.Technically blizz could do both. Force everyone to 20 or 70. Im of the opinion that they should nuke dynamic level scaling altogether. its a neat idea thats only gone on to ruin not 1 but 3 of blizzards games. They wont, but they should. Absolutely no reason a level 10 or level 20 toon should even be walking into end game content, much less competing with level 80s. Lets twinks be small in a big world!Or you know, do a better job scaling shit.
It entirely is. The ability to turn off xp was a result of blizzard throwing twinks a bone. specifically because we asked. And its all downstream from there. Not our fault the system's broken.

I am on the fence about it now, there is something special about the pre scalling world that I miss, granted I can just go play cata for that fix. At the same time the idea of just giving up that much content also leaves a bad taste in my mouth.Im of the opinion that they should nuke dynamic level scaling altogether
Blizz could remove all content from twinks except dueling and ppl would still twink just to duel each other. Thats how great the community is at the core.Classic era anniversary, has pops all day without blizzard interfering
