to call them terrible is a bit unfair, you americans ruined your own leagues when for some unknown reason you started calling football a commie sport, which is ridiculous in itself when you're the only nation in the world using salary caps and draft systems, you had thriving academies and training way back in the sports infancy and were performing well in major international competitions and could've easily become a respected nation in the sport, but you chose to ruin the sports reputation and push solely for baseball and american football which are only really played in your country, now people only go to the mls at the ends of their career playing in nice weather with big sponsorship deals.

all your good players try to make it in europe instead, and im still a bit pissed that my team never signed clint dempsey back in 2010.

I agree with the rest of your post, and theres no debating this point. But I've always wondered why China of all places? Shit air quality, overpopulation, government is fucked, language barriers etc.. I actually have a high school friend who plays basketball over there now and it makes 0 sense to me. Must be something to do with compensation I'm guessing, but ehh that would be the last place I'd move out to.

Yeah, I feel like there are more people that run teams as a fan instead of a business over there, and pump a lot of extra money into sports. Might still turn a profit in China though, they love basketball.

You see it a lot with the WNBA. They get paid nothing in the US because they don't generate much revenue, but they make good money in Russia and China during the offseason. Idk, women's basketball could just be a lot more popular over there too.

Oscar, a brazilian footballer went there at the age of 25 instead of going there to retire which pretty much means he's ditching playing for major trophies and/or at international level because the money is ridiculous out there, his contracted weekly wage is around 550k dollars a week.

can only imagine how much he's making off bonuses, clauses and sponsorships. all while playing in a league that he has no reason to get passionate for or invested in.

no clue why basketball players would go there though, if you don't make it into the NBA where do you go instead? are there minor leagues in america or do you have to go abroad?

I was wrong, actually. Dude from my high school is playing basketball in France atm for Le Mans Sarthe. That scum bag got me b& from the school computers and detention for a week bc he stole my computer password after getting in trouble for checking his fantasy football one too many times. Smh.

Must be someone else doing things in China, not sure what sport tho bc I was almost sure it was that dude playing basketball. Shrug.
