Back after 9 years and curious about the landscape

Greetings all!

I was the owner of a 60 twink (Powermonger - rogue- Kel’thuzad) and last played a loooooong time ago.

I arrived back online to find a nicely squished level 25
What’s the deal now with twinking? Is my toon useless at this point?
I remember a lot of fun BGs against Ally toons, judgedacts, Nikolai, etc… can’t remember any other names off the top of my head.

Battleground bracket is 20-29 now.

Main twink levels are:

20 - Free to play / Vet characters. The only reason to play at this lvl is if you want to play the game for free.
25 - Ex-lv60. People can stay at this level if they have rare items to preserve their characters rarity.
27 - Ex-lv70. People can stay at this level if they have rare items to preserve their characters rarity.
29 - Bracket level cap. Main level people twink at now. Not really a massive difference from 25 and 27, only more talent points.

25s and 27s have absolutely no problem competing with level 29s. In fact, I absolutely obliterate 29s.

Up to you what you wanna do though. Stay 25 or go 29. You won't get THAT big of an advantage at 29 cuz again, it's literally just.. more talent points what it comes down to.

I'd stay 25 if I were you and enjoy being one of the only people with tier-3 / Naxx gear left in the world.

I will likely stay at 25. How are queues for xp locked toons? And are there any guilds alliance or horde with other similar people to hang with?

I was in a guild called like “rockin the 9set” or something before. I’m sure they’re long gone lol.

Judgeacts swapped to BE and renamed Redemption back in wrath or cata or something, occasionally posts under Glorif1ed or some such name here. Probably hasnt played a BG since the XPoff queues died way back then. Not sure on anyone else.

edit- honestly, i think a lot of them sold their accounts back when there was a market... so even if you saw them it'd likely not be them.

Welcome back, enjoy your stay. Only recently has old 60 even been able to queue and get games, tho times are getting worse. Nice to be able to hop on an old 60 tho, hope you never level it!
 
Much appreciated! I’m sorry that the BG scene isn’t more vibrant these days. I was hoping to get some games in. I’ll probably queue and see how it goes.

I first played in early 05 and never logged off for about 6 years Most recently main tanked in a H guild in Cata, so it’s been a long while for me, but never too late for an old guy to check things out again eh?

definitely won’t be leveling this guy! Hopefully the situation improves in the upcoming xpac.

Seems to have been a common trend with people in naxx gear even though (almost) none of them actually got it in vanilla, but of course they all pretended they did :PepeLaughW:

Lol! This guy sadly did not get Naxx gear in vanilla. I played Shaman through AQ40 and in real Naxx back then.
