While I am happy to admit my miser tendencies, the number of linked F2P would have to suggest otherwise.

So am I wrong in assuming that 'due' is an English-as-a-second-language error, colloquial expression or typo?
I'm going to play devil's advocate here: picking apart other people's minor syntax errors on a multinational forum, is hardly fair play. Most of the 24s are at the bottom-left of the bell curve, we all know that, so there is no need to bash them when they are trying to use their words.

English is hard enough to understand that most Americans haven't mastered it. Most non-primary, English-speakers from other countries amaze me with their knowledge of English, when all I can retain from my Spanish training is, "Vámonos!", and "Chupalo!" (jajaja). Idioms, like "Make do", are by damn near untranslatable. Take into consideration that "due" and "do", are homonyms, and that makes it doubly hard.

OP might not deserve to be defended, and I'm not defending his ideas, or intentions on posting here. However, I can't tell you the number of times I've mispronounced a word that I've read a million times, but have never heard spoken. When that happens, it's embarrassing to the one speaking. But when you're having a discussion, and someone attacks how you speak, rather than content of your argument, that is their bad form, not yours.

If OP is an American, well, that's what home-schooling by rednecks will get you.

p.s. Xenophon sorry to call you out, you're not the only one guilty of this, at times, we all are. I just thought I point it out, in order to try and improve dialogue. That is not to say, you can't just go ad hominem on someone every now and again—everything has its time and place—but when done correctly, it is just that much more cutting and cruel.

/lol. Most 24s probably don't know what that means. ;)

Agreed: Lots of English also have trouble with English. (Trust me, I know all about that.) I certainly wasn't meaning to attack the OP or belittle their english, so apologies if a fence has been taken. ;) I just wanted to be clear before I answered the poll. (When I read that option I initially equated it to 'paying your dues' in the literal sense, which is completely different to accepting any new F2P restrictions.)

...sorry to call you out....

No apology necessary, I've seen a lot worse on this forum! Having said that, the OP's guild references a line in a well-known English poem and their preamble to the poll suggests that they have reasonable English skills (if somewhat lazy), so perhaps you are barking up the wrong tree? :p (Which isn't to say that you are incorrect, more that you misunderstood me.)

Even more OT: Can polls on this site include Likert scales??

The irony being that home schooled kids generally have a FAR better education than the kids indoctrinated, er, educated in public schools...

Education starts and ends at home. All the public school system does is a) brainwash kids, and b) prepare them for institutional life. I live right behind a modern middle school campus. It is set up exactly like a prison. Even worse is the Hitler Youth brigade, which has those 12-year-olds out there marching around the parking lot every night. /shudder

Wasn't really trying to start and education debate, but that's what you get when you shoot your mouth off, I guess. And I'm not denigrating home-schools in general; I was mainly referring to the fact that parents are raising really stupid children these days. I know every generation says this, but I really think it's true this time: human beings are about to get dumber as a race.

For instance, take computer science. Ever since Al Gole invented the internet, you have been able to assume that that the kids would know more about computers than their parents. I don't think that's always going to be the case, thanks to video game consoles and tablet computers being so retardedly easy to use. Kids just aren't learning anything the hard way anymore

iOS and Windows 8 try to make it hard for normal users to get into their operating system. People went apeshit when Window first launched on desktops, and they eventually added a powershell and whatnot, but they really tried to make it, to where it was really hard to get in there. Eventually, they will remove things like the control panel and command prompt, and no matter what level of moron you are, you will be able every device, and if you want those features, you will have to buy a pro or developer edition.

When you can't even get into that level of the operating system, you cease to learn anything about how the technology really works. That's the difference between young people and old people. Old people look at a computer and they are afraid to do anything on it because they think they are going to make it explode by pressing the wrong key combination. When it stops working, they take it to Best Buy or get some young whippersnapper to take care of it. They learn nothing from their problems.

People with a young mind get a computer and start using it. If something goes wrong, they go trough the menus and try and fix it— they google—basically, they problem solve. They are able to problem solve because applications and the operating system gives the user access to those tool. If computers evolve to the point where they are so easy to use that the user loses the ability, or the necessity to customize or fix one's own computer, it is at that very moment where we will cease to progress in technology as a race.

Kids will stop becoming engineers, programmers, and the like, because they won't develop and interests in computing or technology because technology will be computerized and boring, There will come a point where devices are good enough that they are almost 100% idiot proof, and there will be nothing new under the sun when it comes to them. Nobody will care what kind of computer or phone you have, just like no one care what brand your land-line phone is (if you even still have one).

Computers will cease to be cool and exiting. It will go back to the point where a very few weird hobbyists know anything about computers and networking. And those people will eventually get old and die, leaving just a skeleton crew to keep things going. Eventually, everyone will forget how do make a computer, and that will be it. I'm telling you, it will be the end of modern civilization, and well will enter into a new dark age where we will be forced to look at our porn on paper.

This process of retardization of America, is not just a public school problem, or a redneck problem. It's a things-are-getting-so-safe-and-easy-to-use-that-kids-aren't-breaking-their-toys-or-getting-their-fingers-chopped-off-enough problem. And so, we will cease to progress as a species, and begin the long downward spiral of devolution. We have only the Xbox and iPad to blame.

Here is a short video to help illustrate my point:

Just redneck home-schools.

I grew up in a rural area. Think cows and corn. Pretty much the definition, right? Home schooled one year, private school the rest. My sister home schooled her kids a few miles away. One is in a Masters program, the other has two degrees.

I respectively disagree.

Sorry, I deleted that post and replaced it with another, slightly longer version, while you were typing. I guess I didn't realize anyone would willingly self-identify as "redneck". I grew up on a homestead, but I don't consider myself one. Maybe you are taking it back? Just kidding.

Anyway the reason I deleted that post because it was overly simplistic, and labels hurt. So I am sorry if I caused offense in the interim. That is why it's always best to edit before posting.

No.

Let's be friends, how are you today?

Haven't seen your shaman in sometime so alright. I'm doin' alright, you?

I try to stay out of Pugs, unless theres like a lot of 24 horde premades going i dont see much point in it. I'm also good!

sure theyre both means to an end but like I keep saying we win because we play better, not because of better gear

You don't seem to get that you're numbers make up for the gear. You're ability to join as 2 healers, 2 dps and an fc gives you a massive advantage over the other team. especially if you're horde, alli having an healer should be cause for an SS.

"No, you. NO, YOU! NO, YOU! NO, YOOOOU!"

I've lived long enough to know that crap don't fly on adultland. We wanna change things for better, we improve ourselves and everything around us.

That means, if you want a more healthy bracket, you behave in a healthy way.
From all those headless people on random bg, someone will approach you asking "hey, how did you own so much with a f2p?"
"- c'mere me boy, i'll teach you how to pwn."

Can't see that happening when it's clear you're using an advantage that truth be told, has no reason whatsoever to be used.

To each their own, i guess. I'm not playing wow till WoD,so i don't stress it over.

And even with your 24, you'll still sometimes get globaled by a f2p hunter or rogue, or premade. Because you reap what you sow.

PS: Sorry, Pigeon. You're correct.

I think you've watched to many westerns.

I'll tell you for the last time. NO! You be the better man and I'll follow suit.

because we play better

You're ability to join as 2 healers, 2 dps and an fc gives you a massive advantage over the other team.

because we play better

I don't know how else to explain this to you. Yes premades are bad if you've got nothing to play against; but even if we roll with a 10 man we still win by playing better than the other team (ignoring comps) because our gear is the same

the problem with p2ps is that their gear is so OP that they don't need to play well to win

When you consistently beat other premades I'll take the "because we play better" argument seriously. You must think because i don't like premades that I've never actually been in one.

Fun fact: I've been in f2p premades with almost every EU player on TI, including you!

I have fun not telling people who your characters are :).

The "gear" difference isn't a huge issue between free to play, and pay to play. Just wanted to point that out. It's normally the difference of 5-10 points on the gear itself that is the difference.

The huge real advantage, is the power of the enchantments and professions a paid account has, access to. (No, enchantments should not be counted in the gear section. That's like saying one cake is better than the other because it has icing.)

Oh well. Endless bickering is why people like forum sites.

Yeah the advantage comes from enchants actually.

And talking about hypocrisy, we are against premades, but we still play them.

"I que alone"/"i've been(actually am) in f2p premades"/"im against premades"

Each day a new "surprise". A real clown indeed :))

If I didn't try them how would I know I don't like them... psychology?

But you do have a small point. It's like a moron that keep crying about 24s, but has one in their sig, and keeps bragging what his gonna do with his 29s if they get merged... A real clown indeed!

Saint, every day, I like you a little more. I once thought you were a troll. Now, you obviously do know what you're talking about.

No sarcasm intended. I'm sorry about going off topic.
