About to roll a 19 trial hunter, please comment.

ok so do i stop at 19 or level to 20?



at 19 i will face twinked out 19s.



at 20 i will face 24's with BoA's.



hmmm...dilemma...

Dilemma indeed. I'm doing the exact same thing as you with my troll hunter "Wobb" on Auchindoun EU. My problem is that I can't earn the 10g without dinging lvl 20. I'm lvl 17 now and i've got 4g. Don't you have the same problem? If not... what's your trick earning gold without AH/trading? :O I'd like to know.
 
You guys have a golden opportunity here, you know.



You see, 20-24s XP Off is nonexistent, at least to my knowledge. This bracket could become a level 20 F2P twink utopia, just like 60s and 70s exist for nostalgia. They ignore the higher level players and do their own thing. The 20's bracket could essentially be -the- F2P twink bracket. With a different gearing standard, of course.



Of course, it would take time to build up. You'd have to do what 29s and 39s and 49s do by scheduling play days. But over-time....

trial gets grouped with exp-on here. they still earn exp, just can't level past 20.

just farm grey mobs. level 13 elites.
 
yeah they dont need to have xp off they just get thrown into the reg bg, be pretty nice really, but its not really a twink bracket....
 
so i'v decided to abandon my horde hunter project as



1, i realized that hunter is just too easy to play, Concussive Shot lasts 6 sec yet cool down is 5 sec and costs no focus. i am going back to my root: the rogue class!!!



2, i also realized that i will probably have an easier time if i leveled to 20 because 20-24 exp-on BG's are probably more fun than 15-19 exp-off BG's. not that i am afraid of competition. plus it's just a nightmare to have to farm 10g without access to AH or in game trading...

p.s. you get crippling poison at 20.

ya i am sure i just did a full 10 day cata trial and my 80 rocked the 80-84 exp-on bracket.
 
This seems like a sh*t ton of effort for little yield. Not meaning to sound like a DBag - if it works out then good on ya mate.
 
so i am leveling my rogue as we speak...i pulled up the profile of one of the most geared 19 rogues and apparently my level 20 trial rogue will have the same amount of health, but 60 less agility.



but on the other hand, i have access to crippling poison!!!



so it's not a bad idea after all!

I'm also trying this but with a druid instead and I'm deciding on leveling him to 19 instead.

I'll try and save up for Heirlooms but this is what it's going to look like in the end: Profiler - Wowhead

I've got the gold to pay to freeze him already and I already have some armor at level 18, I'm just going to ding to 19 through some gulches.



I have Skinning and Herbalism as my Professions which is why I chose Keeshan's Bandana.
 
Can anyone confirm that you can turn xp off? If you can it might be a good way to get games in with out having to re-activate my account. Let me know how this goes.
 
basically you can't access mailbox...you could still look at AH or even buy from AH (i haven't tried to buy anything) but you simply can't see or touch anything that is in your mailbox so it doesn't matter...



i learned it the hard way: when a random dungeon was done, my bag was full and as usual the satchel got mailed to me by "The Postmaster". so i can see that i have mails waiting yet i simply can't access my mailbox...OMG it drives me nuts.

I'm gunna try pretty soon once I can and I'll let you know but I did ding to 20 once on a trial account as a Orc Shaman and I wasted 5 gold trying to see if I can get out of XP off games and the guy took my money but I still played with XP off people. >.<;

At least now I know it's not prohibited as a trial account.
 
hmmm this is interesting. i queued up for wsg after i reached 20 and it says average time for last game is 13 min...and for AB it's unavailable...



i am pretty sure i played exp-on games on my 80 when i did cataclysm trial, so what gives?



if level 20 on a trial gets grouped with 20-24 exp-off, then i'll just forget about this 20 rogue and level my hunter to 19 and lock his exp as originally planned...i am glad i didn't just delete my hunter haha.
 
Hey this is my first post here. I really want to try and make a decent trial twink. Do you think I can join your realm and level a character with you, glancealot? Maybe we can help each other out somehow.
 
I can confirm that 20 will put you in exp off. Its like playing on a vanilla account. When you hit 60 you cant level anymore so It turns exp off. When you did the cata trial the exp bar is ON. Thats why you can queue for 80-84 but withtout that tiral you wont get pops. Just like if you did a bc trial on a vanilla account you could do exp on 60 games but not level.

Yeah I just lvled a char to 20 and as you said you come into locked exp BG. Do you guys think it will be active with locked exp 20-24 BGs now?



No BoAs and no OP enchants, although there will be people making 24 twinks to ruin the fun I guess.
