5.0.4: Personal Pros & Cons

Everyone plays differently, which means that no patch ever hits everyone the same way. How we feel about specific changes depends on who we are.

So I wanna hear, specifically, what you like & don't like about 5.0.4, and why.


Personally, I only really play a holy paladin, because I don't care.

proz
  • denounce is fun, because I can't possibly keep the debuff on everyone at all times, so it keeps me trying.
  • speed boosts make things slightly more dynamic
  • rogues are more dangerous than before, which I appreciate
cons
  • healing is OP (obligatory)
  • mana management, the one thing which allowed one healer to beat another, is almost completely gone for healers. Regen is way too high, no amount of healer (or any single class) dps will wear it down when there's some amount of skill on both sides.
  • divine shield is less fun and less useful than HoP, since it can't be cast on others
  • fewer talent choices = fewer choices. Customization is dying, which is very boring.
  • it's now impossible to queue or accept queues while on a gryphon, (I assume it's not just me, might be) a pointless & frustrating change which only paves the way for a move towards instant travel, since people can say more than ever that flight time is just dead time.
  • judgment is becoming more and more of a generic damage spell, perfect candidate for removal from the game if the trend continues.
  • denounce is prettier than exo, but nowhere near as cool-sounding. Exo has had a cool sound since warcraft 2, and now it's gone for good.
  • the diminishing returns nerf SUCKS.
  • I miss 1-click scoreboard. The new system is inexplicable.
  • the hit cap was too high beforehand, now it's worse. Why is it so important that we can't fight anybody higher than ourselves?

Druid con: Swipe is now 22. That sucks if you're actually into PvE...really sucks.

So far, that's really the only thing I've found that really blows. It'd be nice to still be able to queue Heals & Tank whenever you want (Pre 5.0 I could heal just fine as a feral spec), but that loss isn't much of a biggee.

Not being able to AoE as a tank is HUGE imo.


edit: oh yeah, and faction specific passenger mammoths...that one blows also. :/

First things first
paladins should be banned from low level bgs.Especially holy.And disc priests to a lesser extent.Hunters at least somewhat kept those ''things'' in check.
And now.there is no stopping them or putting them on a leash..Hopefully by the time MoP hits things will flesh out

No more hybrid type characters, like a intellect stacking prot paladin
HoJ still in the game+undispelable bubble

Pros: more competitive games where your team and other team has same amount of healers within 2 of each other. ex 6 ally healers 4 horde but 2 ally heals vs 6 horde isnt competitive.
-Less farming.. only been farmed in GY once since 5.0.4
-Cross realms
-How quickly holy shock got nerfed and Hpals disappeared xD
-speed upgrades in talents

Cons: Only seen 2 healers run oom since release (mana regen is broken)
-Healing doing 200% of what dps can throw out
-10+ healers per bg
-Rdruids going faster then mounts >.<
-Whole queuing system (bg and dungeon both)
-1k priest shields
-rogues losing sprint
 
Pro:

The patch proved more impressively than i could imagine how much alliance crutched on skill-patch huntards. So all this whining was really justified. I mean how fast the bg's were filled with shockadins and the queue times reversed. Wow. If Blizzard actually cared about balance they should just check player statistics to see which classes are too difficult or weak.
 
Pro: i can heal indefinitely, run flags without trying, and i dont die unless im stunlocked by multiple people

con: its boring, nerf me plzz
 
Cons: My prot paladin, which fit my playstyle perfecty through the use of mixed strength and intel gear combined with the power of judgements of the wise is no longer geared properly for anything, and I really have no desire to play the pigeonholed shell of a class prot paladins are now, nor to play the utter BS that are Holy Paladins right now.

I miss my shammy totems and my earth shield.

I miss purging paladin bubbles.

Paladins are a more mobile healing class than shamans? wtf?

Pros: Instant ghost wolf is awesome and makes elemental a lot of fun.

Terrible huntards aren't ruining the class anymore. Good hunters can now really showcase the class.
 
Pro: Cataclysm
More mobility for palas and warrior´s.
Priests can get targets off them.
Druids can run like mad cows.
Holy Shock was solved fast.
40% base resilience... still i think it should be 30% xD.
Cross realm feature.
Easier to hit cap.

Cons:MoP
Priests do more dmg then most dps classes and they do 1K bubbles and can heal alot and same for other healers also have OP heals.
Survival spec is no longer playable.
Rogues are the only class with dmg enough to keep healers busy.
With the 40% base resilience and OP heals in pre-patch... Almost all dps classes were nerfed.
Mana regen.
Rogues lost sprint.
Rdruid way to fast.
Already accindetly left bg 2times cuz of the new way to toggle score boaard... dont like the way it looks and dont like not being able to open score board with one click.
 
pros: mind control is fun on roof or lumbermill, playing a hunter is actually fun now
cons: healing is boring

cons:

argas GF'd for horde
overall pvp gameplay "feel" sucks IMO
dont like my warlock anymore
dont like my warrior anymore
dont like my druid anymore
dont like my paladins anymore
dont feel like playing anymore
