the savage trodders dropped by a boss in wailing caverns used to be 9stam, now they are 5str 5stam... good enough to rival some of the BiS?

Yes, they are. But not for FC/Holy Sets anymore.



Edit: to all mentioning new items, Thanks! Wait a sec and check back, I wrote a long and detailed PM to Eliot; containing the majority of new 4.0.3a Items. Just gotta wait for him to update.



Still might be missing some things though. Feel free to mention anything when the Guide is updated.

At this time I'm not exactly sure if a single BiS list with all the gear that has been changed and added, so pick and choose from the BiS lists to get yourself 11 hit rating.

This could arguably be a contender for Gloves BiS for non Grandfathered Holy Pals. However 1 Stam and 4 Spirit (the spirit not being THAT big-a factor for Paladins) might not be worth the lack of Armor.



Only due to the fact that it's very easy to stumble into a habit of just stacking non-Mail items; resulting in your Armor being much too low to survive in Melee combat. But yeah, if you have enough armor to warrant the sacrifice, [item]Serpentis' Gloves[/item] could indeed be a good choice.
 
Well, while it may not be bis, i believe it is a better choice when compared to the cloth versions you listed. You sacrifice 2 int for 1 sta, 4 spirit and more armor.
 
Hey you should add in Goblin mail leggings for the ret set, and even though WBFH isnt BiS you should have it on there, imo if you're not going to use engineering bombs then green tinted goggles arent worth it when you can use WBFH + mining, you would get 2 extra stam at the cost of 4 spirit. also Sparkmetal bracers (aliance only).

arnt these the same stats as magefist gloves? or is the fact they are cloth make them a terrible option?



just checked and the magefists are 2stam and 24 armor less.. so i guess i answered my own question lol
 
I hope to have the guide fully updated some time this week.
 
I was actually very surprised when I noticed the Author of this thread. Thought it was going to be John, in which case I would of laughed my ass off. Hur hur hur.

would [item]12977[/item] be better than the serpent/gold-flecked gloves?



EDIT: nvm, the [item]serpentis' gloves[/item] mentioned earlier are better, but you must choose between that one and [item]cleansed pauldrons[/item] if you don't have boa shoulders
