I think to ignore the history of the bracket probably the stupidest fucking thing I've ever heard. Starting a clean slate as if the one that has been created before you or even me for that matter is so tarnished. I'm pretty the bracket doesn't need to regress.

I feel that you missed what I had to say. I want people to understand there is no reason for the logo to have embedded history in it's design. We are making history with the fresh logo that is put out to represent the tournament. When I say clean slate, I mean the image itself needs to have no prior ties to anything directly related to 19, because on it's own unique image we will be writing a page in the book of twonks. No need to have a fully dressed up rogue in goggles with fang/AB, we are writing a new page of history.

I think what HB was going for is that if you think of any major logo for anything, it is professional, simple, and to the point. Think World Cup Logos. They do not have the greats of the game all over them. They do not have the stars of the current WC on them. They have something simple and symbolic. I like the idea of a fishing hat resting on a T formed by a shadowfang, forming the TC logo. I don't think that anything else fancier is required for the logo. Can other art/twink lore/etc be show elsewhere on streams? Yes. Do I think the logo should be simple? Yes. My $0.02.

World cup logos.. yes.. Every world cup logo in my lifetime has had either a soccer ball or the actual trophy that you receive for winning. Both of those are significant images that represent the game of soccer/football JUST LIKE a shadowfang or fishing hat or "insert twink item here" would represent the 19 bracket. I'm not sure how you or HB took it that I wanted pyrotechnics to erupt, dubstep pounding, and tinks all over the place. I'm all for simple, but two letters with a circle and a background is borderline.

The 2015 Twink Cup that is taking place in the 19 bracket "needs to have no prior ties to anything directly related to 19"

I get it man.. you are saying the twink cups image could be something completely new and the forefront to take the bracket to new heights. I agree with you young millennial, but completely disregarding any history what so ever is a fatal mistake. I'm not saying lets lather this tink cup logo up with some atax beards and heysus sheild bashes, but just some letters with a circle around it and a background isn't quite going to cut it IMO.

You could always include all the Artwork in a slideshow during the time out of game, as well as advertisements and anything necessary to premote, and showcase the TC sponsor's.

Also, a little side note. I, as well as a lot of other people are coming into this Twink Cup with the mindset that it will be 99% WSG, which it should be, I put forth the idea of having a bigger WSG prize pool, the eradication of the Rap Battle, and a smaller arena prize pool, of let's say, $300? So that each person would recieve $100, but also raise the prize pool of the WSG so to it further reflects the focus and love of this bracket, which is of course Warsong. This could be changed when more money is added to the overall TC prize pool, but until then, it seems like the best course of action.

Keep in mind that the TC logo might not just be the logo of this specific Twink Cup, but also for future Twinl Cups to come. I think that would help promote both this specfic tourny but also the bracket as a whole, as people would begin to recognize it as a representative logo of a continuous tournaments and the activity and the enthusiasm of the bracket.

I'd wanna play have ab and eots played too it adds another dimension. Maybe first game WSG then losing team picks next map

Pls no... WSG tourny
Myrm, why dont you donate the money to a cause?

Seems like you have managed to get lots of money. Would be a huge waste to give it off to teenage boys... What are they going to do with that money? A new computer?

Think about it.
wow... you can't just give money away to something random. People donated cause they knew it would be going into a prizepool

Just a proposition! I just thought it would be cool to have a Twink community donating money to a good cause. Would definitely make some big news and bring more fame. /winkwink

Are you saying you care more about pixels than the starving children of Africa!!? :p

Why don't you donate the money you spend on wow to starving children in Africa? Do you care more about pixels than them?

You should rather focus your good-will thoughts on the winners of the tourny. Ask them to donate the prize pool to a good cause. I wouldn't say this is Myrms money. All respects to him and a huuuuge shoutout, but really the money in the prize pool belongs to the winners of the twink cup. Or the Twink Cup itself of you could put it likr that

Why don't you make a level 10 team, then the prize money won't go to a bunch of greasy teenagers, it will go to the true heroes of the 10-19 bracket.

Seems like you have managed to get lots of money. Would be a huge waste to give it off to teenage boys... What are they going to do with that money? Buy drugs? A new computer?

Think about it.

Isn't that what the money is supposed to be spent on?

It doesn't matter how the money gets spent, the money is only important for the prestige it bestows on the winner and the tournament as a whole. The Twink Cup isn't about money, it's about love and the pursuit of glory. The 19 twink bracket in WoW offers a kind of acceptance and fraternity that's difficult to find elsewhere, and at a much lower cost. In real life the path to acceptance for those that can find it is often paved with violence and drugs, and glory is reserved for the few. The Twink Cup strives to provide an opportunity for people to experience things that they otherwise wouldn't, and to extend that opportunity to as many people as possible. The money is the beacon and the source of this glory.

The trust of an entire community is not something that's easily earned or wisely squandered. To have such a large amount of people share your vision and work to make this vision succeed is a beautiful thing. You don't need to go to Africa to find a worthy cause or deserving people. I've had several people tell me directly how important the bracket has been in getting them through the struggles of life, and there's been one person that I considered a friend that didn't make it. I've experienced first hand some of the "causes" that other people have to offer. I was kicked out and arrested when I was 15, I lost my friends shortly after, many of whom were on drugs. I spent most of my time playing 19 twinks until I was forced to see a counselor, her exact words were "no one would care if you died." This is the narrative of so many of these so-called benevolent causes, that you're unimportant, that you're a monster undeserving of friendship or acceptance, that you'll never amount to anything.

The goal of the Twink Cup is to present a different narrative. You can succeed, you are good at something and you deserve recognition, you will make friends and find acceptance. The Twink Cup is to be a light providing warmth and hope in a cold, dark world. If you can present me with a more worthy cause I'd love to hear it.
