What Do You Miss About Cata?

Gosh i dont know, that might be her or him. I don't remember any others at this point. that person used to charge like they weren't worried about anything haha, Thought it was real cool, you didnt see serious warriors (of any spec) in a world dominated by paladins, hunters and priests without a fluffly pillow that is resil buff, we had maybe 6 total now its 40%) This was back in cata though

I miss all those jumping, one striking rogues. They were fun. Not to play but to play against. And of course the usual question from "pro" gamers: "Why are you using Venerable Dal Rend's Sacred Charge?" "I'm combat specced." "lol" And then some blahblah why shadowstep is so much better.
Though, back then it wasn't a good idea to attack warriors as rogue... dodge... overpower.... damn, that hurt.

My feelings echo much of what Salfir posted. The community was the best and I liked that everything wasn't laid out for you. Blizzard made things easier and that took away a large portion of the fun! Cata was a new frontier.

Mage was so much more fun to play.

I think healing in a way is a lot better. We have cleanse, well, most of us- okay, some of us. Paladins have denounce that they can strategically keep applied to prevent critical strikes on their allies. I really like that!

Not to mention the gap between P2Ps and F2Ps being made drastically smaller. Remember when you couldn't even come close to hit capping for 24s without completely losing your stats? Or how Mind Control couldn't be used on 24s?

The only things I really miss are:

Hand of Protection, if you're really old you would say Blessing of Protection, WHATEVERS. And that buzzing evil menacing sound that exorcism made. I love and hate it, it brings fond memories and bad memories of being hoj'd and exo-spammed to death, ugh. The haunting buzzing zapping noise, the horror and yet... the beauty.

This is why I, well see for yourself, these are my buttons, exo-nounce and hand of divine protection? (eh, fishing shouldn't be there, oh well >_>):

Annnd...

The people. Memory is such an odd thing. I've had people tell me that they remember being in the gulch with me, either on my side or against me. Yde has said this. Mei has said this. I believe even in Ghoulshine has said this. I hear Shft and others talk about the, how to word this "good old days" and they talk about people. Most of which aren't familiar. How is this possible? I was there!

When I used to play, I used to play a lot, 472 currently and most of them are from when I stopped playing Rhaellia. Damn it, I should know these people, I probably did at the time but my brain is dumb. I have forgotten a lot of really awesome people, I don't like that. Right now I'm thinking of someone who was a really awesome player. I can't think of the name though, it's a horrible feeling to me. I don't want to forget any of them.

You're thinking this is pretty silly, aren't you? Well, to me, you can't talk to people daily, for hours and not get somewhat attached to them. I admit I go full barnacle, attaching myself to people fairly quickly, guilty as charged (boy is this post getting long winded, sheesh heh). It's just so easy for me! What do you expect from someone whose enjoyment of a game is usually centered around the enjoyment of the other people playing it. When I'm healing my friends in a BG, I'm invested in their feelings, I don't want any of them to ragequit. I want them to have fun, I'm invested in winning I find usually for them. Which is very different if I solo queue. If I'm premading it's "alright, Earl's dying, we gotta get over there and save his butt so he doesn't quit :O". Or we're being GY farmed and everyone is about to leave "Bad games happen" or if I'm feeling extra perky "Lets do this, we can win, lets go!".

Maybe that's what I missed most. I love looking out for my buddies. Catching them when they're about to fall, and chuckling when I'm the one that has to clean their brains up off the gulch when I'm a little late to the party. I might not remember the fine details, or all the faces but I hope I remember that feeling of being part of a team, a group and looking out for each other. I've never been part of a team like I had with Earl and Kincaide. I felt important, I felt valued, I felt like I belonged! :)
Done being nostalgic and boring!

School of tastyfish

I haven't played wow in like a year and when I went to go try for the fishing hat last week I was wondering why I couldn't find any tastyfish schools, passed about 3 or 4 pools before I realized.
