US event cancelled

I do kinda find it a bit ironic tho, how so many f2p's outed 29's for only wanting to stomp levelers. But compared to what I've seen from f2p/vets there is no wargames while 29's hosted wargames every weekend and at some point almost every night.
I didn't see this comment.
Your pretty cool Zirano but this has to be the most dumbest ignorant post of 2019.
F2Ps have been organizing wargames since cataclysm (when f2ps were introduced)
Judging from this post, its obvious you have no idea of the history of F2Ps (not surprised knowing your an ex 29)
Even in WoD when vets were first introduced, the whole expansion was veteran wargames. i specifically remember my guild, neon's, AP guilds, and Burg's doing a bunch of wargames, because we were all hyped about veterans.
29s did get wargames on weekends "at some point" but it's nothing compared to what 20s have done lmao.
20s were dying out because there really was nothing new left. Therefore less wargames.
Legion was absolute trash, were stuck with templates and only advantage are the 29 spells. BFA somehow turned out to be even worse until this recent patch putting us in our own bracket. Regardless, the damage is done. We've lost all the good f2p players.

Seriously to even compare F2Ps wargames scene to 29s is an absolute troll.
There is no reason to have rolled a 29 before this patch but to stomp levelers and 20s.

Yeah but that's it exactly, we don't have the same playerbase in general anymore. wow turning more shit by the day has turned so many people away from the game, which has affected every bracket in it's own way. and my point was that 29's actually took the initiative to start some competitive games since twinks were back to being much stronger than levelers because of the removal of the templates. and then some 20's cry day in and out about how 29's are ruining the bracket and stuff but they themselves were doing nothing to make their own competitive games.

I have nothing against 20's, but the 20's that cried about 29's day in and out rub me the wrong way.

edit: I'd also like to add that, I highly doubt 20's would be anywhere near as active (pvp wise) as it is now if they were separated from the levelers, because as you pointed out yourself, there is not enough players left.
edit2: also you said 29's did wargames at the weekends at some point, but that clearly shows you don't know many 29's because for a long period there were wargames almost every night, even tho it was usually only 1-3 games but they still happend.

Alrighty, some of you done pissed off a twinker soccer dad. Let's set some history straight before someone stumbles across this thread and thinks f2ps and 29s were always like this.

F2ps accomplished some of the greatest collaborative feats in the history of twinking. If you rolled your f2p after the apex of everything Aerie Peak accomplished, at the same time as the "Kochi era" on Korgath, then I'm sorry you missed out. And those were just the big places -- plenty of other f2ps took part in amazing community events and collaborations on other servers as well. FFS, f2ps were one of only two brackets to have an addon made for them to help with that collaboration.

Not to be outdone, 29s did amazing work to sustain their community during the first XP-off queue split, and then again when brackets got split 20-24 and 25-29. If you don't know who @Daksa is and you play 29s, you missed out on more than one era of 29 twinking. Some of the hardest working community organizers of any bracket called 29s home.

You can be as unhappy as you want to be about the lack of games. My point is, too many of you new-school f2ps and 29s (that's right, both brackets) are squabbling about the "why", and precious few like @Neon and @Chops are actually working to help build interest.

I'm sorry the interest wasn't enough this time around for f2p wargames; it was a worthy attempt. But quit yer petty squabbling, because you're making a turkey out of the rest of both brackets. Both f2ps and 29s have a lot to be proud of over the years, and this newest queue segregation remains an opportunity.

ahhh, the korgath arena days were great

There are tons of players who play starter accounts because that's the game as they know it and then there's the few of us who "twink" starter accounts fairly seriously. We'd be fine.

Either way, we had a failed attempt at a wargame. It happens and honestly, it was predictable.

Try as we might to convince folks that F2P is way cooler than vet, most people don't understand not maxing yourself for pvp. It is, after all, what twinking is for.

I would love for yall to discover and get into all the fun F2P has to offer. But it's very different from twinking as most people know it. In the truest, original sense, F2P isn't even twinking. It's low level end game. And that confuses and bugs people and for most folks, that's wildly unappealing. I get that.

So rather than try to convince yall to play f2p, I think it's probably just safe to accept that vet might be the current best bet for competitive games. At least for the time being.

That was really alot of fun. Even the part where I got yelled at for not using a white vendor weapon because "warriors are too good at beating mage/shaman"

But shouldn't these people have showed interest for this event tho? I feel like this post kinda proves otherwise, that there simply arent enough of you left to actually start competetive games. how would that change if you were separated into your own random bg bracket?

Edit: I might come off more "aggresive" than I intend for, that's just because of my personality. I don't necessarily mean to shit on 20's, but more so just counter argue to the point that 29's died out that you 20's like to meme about. and that in the current state I believe the same would happen to 20's if they were separated.

I guess I didn't make myself clear.

The bulk of starter accounts don't even know what twinking is. They're just folks/kids who see a free game and play it.

At the risk of sounding like Allybeebop, you're stuck thinking this forum = the bracket

But if someone were trying to organize 20 vet wargames and it needed people, then I would ask my 20 friends that arent on xpoff if they were interested to join, and I assume you guys would do the same right? Yeah not everyone is on the forum, but most people would be associated with someone that actually uses the forum right?

I'm not real interested in going round and round with you about this. I've already stated what I think happened with the wargames sign up, outside of throwing neon under the bus for starting an event and then not keeping the thread bumped or even reaching out to the f2p discord.

If you're trying to prove that the community is small, it is. There aren't many people who really take starter accounts seriously.

If you're trying to prove that the total number of starter accounts is small because it would tweak your schadenfreude pleasure center to see them collapse in a further segregation, you're an idiot. There are tons.

There's just a big difference between the "f2p community" and the f2p population. Much more so than in other brackets simply due to the restrictive communication. I see dudes with dual AGM I've never seen before and never see again. Regularly.

But just because he did not post it in the f2p discord, why did not anyone else link it? this to me just makes it look like they truely werent that interested in the wargames. Starting wargames like this imo should be a joint effort and word to word imo is a very powerful tool that clearly have not been utilized here and either your community is very disjointed atm or you are all just lazy.

edit: to point out an example, when people first started talking about wargames at 29 in bfa, I immediately posted in both our guild discord and in some other random 29 discord to try to get people engaged.

I mean isn't Zirano on EU as well? I feel as though that might have to do with his experience, because from what I've seen they aren't as active as US is. Which is fine, but it's not okay to say a community is crumbling when you're not technically part of the one that you're trying to make that claim about.

......yes, and?

idk why you're putting so much effort into shitting all over neon and chops....these are not the guys you're after?

trying to make this event happen, even if it wasn't perfectly executed, was dope. You're talking about how you would've organized a wargame, how you advertised someone else's effort.... Neon actually tried to organize one. I don't really think you have the place to criticize him- especially in bad faith

even making this (super, super dumb) comparison between f2ps and 29s..... f2ps have been dying out for years because vets are free too. its been two weeks or so since 29s split- and you're comparing the 29 community efforts to f2ps? years since f2ps have been made almost 100% obsolete by vet twinks, the bracket has been split and fractured and put back together...... here's a wargame that got 60% of a roster together with limited support and involvement from people around it, in a community that doesn't have a very high degree of communication at all.

so, even making this dumb comparison, it's not in your favor. it's really, really, really, really really not in your favor. 29s are almost dead basically overnight, and here we are years later talking about a f2p war game effort. props to neon and everyone else keeping the flame going.

Why the fuck would anyone think that would be a good idea.

It’s a better idea to have an event as the head organizer to go through rather than disappoint a lot of people. I’m pretty sure you could’ve filled 10 average’d gear vets and ban crusader swapping and the event would’ve gone perfectly fine.

once again, shit idea katsudon and I'm not gonna try to explain to you why...

shitting all over neon and chops
How the fuck am I shitting on Neon lol? the entire point of my post is that I think that everyone has to try to contribute, chops said in his post that Neon had not posted about the wargame in the f2p discord, but would it be so fucking hard for someone else to take 1 minute out of their life to post it in his place? in this reply specifically I was trying to show that it doesnt take a lot of effort for people to spread the information around. Not once in my reply did I mention Neon and I think it's dope that he tried to start something, I just think there was a lack of followup from the rest and I was questioning if this was because of a disjointed community or out of laziness.

Like are we even reading the same thread? Chops wrote:

I don't see why there is a need for neon to "reach out" to the f2p discord when chops was legit the second or third person to reply in the thread, he could've simply gone out on his own initiative and posted it in the f2p discord and spread the word. this excuse might be some of the dumbest shit I've read on here.

Bitch stop crying.

.. sorry couldn't help it. But really though, give the community a break. This attempt didn't exactly work but it's not like we haven't had hundreds in recent xpacs. With some added communication and follow-up I'm sure next time will have no issues.

none of these people are accountable to you. it's not an excuse. it's something that happened. who are you, and who the hell cares what you think about what other people tried to accomplish in a community you're not remotely a part of?

you're just here to prove a grudge about 29s so for god's sake fuck off already. that's all i have to say about it, and I don't want to devolve this thread even more when all the constructive arguments have been made in good faith by people who gave you more time of day than you deserved
At least us 29's knew that to get shit going you have to put in some collective effort and we didnt rely on one person alone to make wargames happen and then afterwards lowkey throw him under the bus. "it's something that happend" jesus fucking christ, are you f2p's so busy that you can't take 1 minute out of your day to help your fellow f2p out to get some wargames going? How the fuck can you guys shit on any other with this kind of attitude.

Big ups to Neon for trying to make something happen, too bad nobody wanted to help him :)

Did you read what you quoted lol? it's basically all about the lack of communication

I am not in the f2p discord and I bumped it everytime someone replied to it.
