US Thoughts.

2016 TC Champion
I've been thinking about this quite a lot. I haven't skipped more than 3 days of pops the last 4 months. I've worked on becoming the best version of myself as an FC. I've respected the community and the rules within. Most people don't. Players I see as passionate players, players I want to respect, don't respect the community and rules within.
Some players are annoyed that they won't be playing for their favorite guild for the Twink Cup, yet they use Valentine Buffs.
Some players are expected to be the face of the community, yet they use Valentine Buffs.
Some players want to be acknowledged for their skill, yet they use Valentine Buffs.

Act as the current you while working to become the future you.

I hope someone who reads this can see themselves being one of these types of players and will have their mindset changed for the better.

don't discriminate against those using valentine buffs.

rules within? there are no rules within this bracket. not using swiftness potions, drums, among others included in these 'rules within' you speak of are simply a courtesy.

i'm a veteran member of this community and from my recollection holiday buffs have always been fine. they aren't some hard item to obtain and like all holidays in the game; the event will pass. if you don't like it, get them yourself or buckle up.

So you bought a GF'd druid to be ahead gear-wise 365 days a year, but complain that people use minor buffs for 3 weeks?..

The point of this thread wasn't to tell people to stop using Valentine Buffs. The point was to tell people who wants to be in a situation or get into a situation where such Buffs are not appropriate that they shouldn't use them.

Buffs are there to be used, you want to push your tink to the limit and that includes buffs you can get within the game. That's just my opinion though.

What is wrong with using buffs? Aren't we t winking after all? Shouldn't we be striving to make our toons have the maximum stats attainable? Isn't that the entire point?
Can someone explain what I am missing here?

That's literally what i said, but that's none of my business.

We're talking about 3 weeks of pugs that won't have a lasting effect on anyone's play once the event is over.

I just have one thing to say since the others pretty much covered the important stuff.

"Some players are annoyed that they won't be playing for their favorite guild for the TC, yet they use Valentine Buffs." I address this quote because I think it was directed at myself and some other individuals as well.

-Do you honestly think people will become reliant on it and not be able to know how to play normally again once the event is over? Twinks have been using buffs for years. I think any sensible player can realize how skilled someone is or how knowledgeable they are even if they are using valentine buffs. The Valentine buffs don't buff people's positioning, leadership, decision making, or mechanics which are typically how people consider someone to be a great player.

The bottom line of this all is that a few games of increased stats won't have a lasting affect on a good player's play, if they do then they didn't deserve a TC spot anyway or were never really that good.

Let people have their 3 weeks of Valentine buffs as well their other seasonal buffs like we have for years. Bracket all starts with pugs and always has. Not everyone plays premades and the bracket doesn't only revolve around premades. The life and source of the bracket will always be pugs.

You have to impress other players in order to be considered for a spot on a Twink Cup team. Using Speed Pots, Elixirs, Valentine Buffs or Engineering stuff will just hinder what you're trying to do, which is to impress. That is my point.

It's not about restricting everyone. It's about letting people know whom want to impress, become respected or acknowledged, that Consums will hinder you in doing just that.
