A Final Word

Hotshots is one of two people actively ddosing.

Seems to me that DDosing is asking for it about 20 million times more than talking trash. Cheeser's position has been clear from the start - he doesn't believe the people that ddosed months ago should get off so easy. Others feel differently. What doesn't seem like it's in dispute is that the entire community should be united against active DDosers but we know for quite some time this hasn't been the case. That needs to change if we expect it to stop.

I have remained quiet on this topic and want it to go away - but to see active DDosers posting and nobody calling them out is just too much.

i cant really put my 2c into anything anymore else i'd be called out by the all knowing cheeser and fellow a+ cheeser detectives

What do you want people to say to them? "Hey.. You mean DDoSer.. Go away.." I would rather have people completely ignore them instead of giving them attention like you just did.

That implies that what Barb said is correct, of course.

Hotshots, barb has said you're the one that's been ddosing harvestes wargames nightly. It was a verbal conversation so you should listen(and respond) if you want to deny. And if there's any truth to his statements clarify the situation.

For ppl claiming barb is lying - everything else he's claimed via screenshot or voice comm has been right. I a few cases people had an explanation (living, jameb) why they did do that but wasn't related to ddosing. Others have owned up that they used to do it but don't anymore. So there hasn't been a single case where it was just outright fabricated.

a verbal conversation wtf i dont even talk to barb? your points are invalid bruh. everything you said so far about me has been false so i dont know why you are so intent on jumping to conclusions on people.

Like I said elsewhere - explain every conversation via writing or verbal with barb on the topic publicly. Then people can judge your response. Saying it publicly allow barb to post evidence if you lie. If you do that I'm happy to evaluate. But until then you're claiming you're the absolutely only person he completely made everything up on when every other example had at least some truth to it. So a blanket denial such as you're giving now is just hard to believe. If you spoke to him give details. If you've never communicated with him ever then say so.

"reply with quote" gives notification of your reply so people dont have to keep checking back on the thread to know you are talking to them. also you can put @name to tag them in it.

DDoSers are only bad if they aren't in your guild. Fly hackers are only bad if they aren't in your guild. Anyone that cheats is welcome in <HARVEST>.

Thanks for clearing that up, HB & Kunz.

Yeah you know because it's so hard to understand when I'm referring to the post directly above mine. Regardless I'll try to remember.

That wasn't what he meant. If you quote someone they receive a notification instead of having to check the thread every now and then to see if you responded.

You are linking the same screenshots that have been linked before. These screenshots are several months old.

Why you are too stupid to look at the dates displayed in the screenshots is beyond me.

Computer Fraud and Abuse Act - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I was looking at this wiki page, hoping to find this 60-day statute of limitations on DDoS crimes, the same statute of limitations that you & your ilk must be referring to with the "several months old" comments. Could you please point out where they make mention of such a short statute of limitations in the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act? I must be really dumb that I do not see any mention of this 60 day (or is it 30 days, or is it 24 hours, 1 hour?) limit on consequences for said DDoS felonies.

As dorigooon said before no ones getting a felony for this... ddosing is shameful and pathetic however at the end of the day its a video game, you gotta understand this stuffs had to happen else where before i wouldn't sweat the small stuff cheif.

Not that DDoS'ing is acceptable ever. And I don't know what happened, and I don't really care to do any investigating. But I do know that HB wasn't able to play during a certain period of time. The time where he claims to have been DDoS'ed. I believe him. Think about how you would feel if that happened to you and your friends and family. You'd want to choke a bitch. I might even consider trying to find out who was DDoS'ing me, and doing whatever I could do to stop them. I might even think about trying to get them back, however I could.

So, say they did DDoS someone in anger and retribution. I think that's a whole lot less pathetic than the people that DDoS'ed because they couldn't win games of World of Warcraft. Not saying it's right. Not saying they did. I don't know. I'm just saying I can understand the desire for someone wanting to take an eye for an eye, but I can't with someone who did something so major over something so petty, as not being able to beat a team in a video game.

And that's the thing. DDoS'ing goes beyond a video game. People that don't have a life outside of WoW might not understand that, but it effect people ability to do things like work or do schoolwork from home. You might think that you DDoS'ing just wins you games, but what you're really doing is stopping someone's household from conducting their life. When you DDoS, you've stepped out of the realm of video games and out into the real world.

Think about if you slashed people's tires you didn't like. Sure, you might not ever get caught. You might do it a hundred times. But you might slash the wrong dudes tires one day, and he finds you and bashes in your head with a baseball bat. This is why you don't fuck a stranger in the ass.

I don't think that we'll ever figure out who did what. I don't think it's healthy to even try. The people that have been mentioned are surely only part of the problem, as DDoS'ing has sadly become part of the meta, and is widespread in WoW. Any punk can do it.

It's been said before, but it's pretty apparent that some people have it out for HARVEST. How far do you think they would go in order to see them fail? Would they DDoS when they couldn't win? I wouldn't put it past them.

Yes.

The post I responded to claimed that the screenshots provided disprove Gratzii's statement of <HARVEST> not DDoSing. They do not for the simple reason that they originate from a period of time before either of the culprits was part of the guild.
<HARVEST> has a few members who dabbled in DDoS and/or IP harvesting in the past but the guild itself does not take part in such activities nor did any of the offenders since joining the guild unless you care to prove otherwise.

I agree with one thing, you are really dumb, :)

no one should be sorry for anything imo -- this isn't a community either. all of you should stop acting like we are, its pathetic

The word community covers a lot of ground. You are wrong by definition.

a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common.

a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals.

a particular area or place considered together with its inhabitants.

a body of nations or states unified by common interests.

the people of a district or country considered collectively, especially in the context of social values and responsibilities; society.

denoting a worker or resource designed to serve the people of a particular area.

By every interpretation of the word this is a community.
