We could do more

  • Greetings US twinkers, first time making a thread so any type of feedback or constructive criticism would be much appreciated.

This idea just came to me while sitting in a 30 minute battleground queue bored out of my mind. Why aren't we as one of the largest twinking communities taking full advantage of what blizzard has recently given us? What we could never have hoped for were implemented by blizzard such as Skirmishes and new battlegrounds (EotS and AV) and of course putting wargames back in.

It seems to me that the EU community has just taken the ball and ran with it while US has been falling behind, i'm not too sure whats happened, maybe it's the fact a lot more people from the US f2p community decided to try out endgame or if they moved to other twinking brackets such as 19 or 39, or maybe it's that everyone wants Shadowfangs on their Fist monks.

I have recently been seeing a few EU threads encouraging wargames while not many people from US even seem interested, it seems quite obvious that EU is diving into the new content provided while US is lagging behind. In the previous expansions we've had people coming in from other twinking brackets and organizing events such as Hunnybuns19 with the 10v10 premades, many of us have just sat back and waited for someone to organize (this includes me) and if no one did, there was of course no fun thing to do. I myself have no experience in organizing events in WoW so I would be clueless, however this is just a motivating rant to inspire someone to go ahead and step up.
    Cheers! :)

IMO it's too hard to organize across realms. Limited P2Ps, people don't show up at the times, it just doesn't work. Someone needs to pick a realm (a secret realm) when we can all reroll. It seems a lot easier to get BiS now and if we get the BoA tab rerolling would be nothing.

It's much easier to Q skirmishes/BGs with people on the same realm. I'm unsure what all we can do now (still no wargames yes?) but sim Qs should be enough to get matched up.

This should be fun, we have a large community. There should be a strong Ally and Horde presence . We should establish "Goldshires" for both factions that are close to eachother so we get a chance at some world PvP.

I have limited P2P help but it wouldn't take more then a few to get it rolling. I would be interested in rerolling for this.

If you don't have anything to say about events then take it elsewhere

We don't need 5 grammar Nazis post that derail a decent thread that's promoting a bigger community. We get the idea. There's probably 10 worthless threads on the first page, feel free to auschwitz eachother there.

I very politely was trying to help the OP, so that in the future, if they wish to organize an event, they had a little help on how to word. "Grammar Nazi" isn't really the correct term here, I didn't correct any of the actual words they typed, nor did I actually insult their grammar. If an attempt to help someone, and giving out actual advice is such an issue with you, then I sincerely apologize. My post did nothing to derail this thread, but, whatever floats your goat mate. If you get the idea, then why did you have to type a redundant post, about my apparently redundant post?

As for events, I have several World PvP ideas, but I personally don't want to take the effort nor the time to put it in to effect. Not being a known in any of the twinking communities rather hurts my chances of actually getting something started.

But, since I'm apparently derailing this thread, I'll go find my notes of World PvP ideas, and post them here.

Yet again, apologies for causing you issues.

The solution is staring you straight in the face. You guys* rerolled elsewhere because you didn't want to help new players on AP. Because of this we have to reroll on a "secret" server? Ask Korgath how well that worked out. The reason we can't get big events rolling is because the core we need has spread itself all over the place. You're right, cross realm is an enormous hurdle, one that has rarely been overcome. The only reason any major crz event was succesful is one person put in an enormous, inoridinate and relatively thankless amount of work. Shot's fired, if you left AP you're the problem.

Here's an example. The arena junkies have rerolled countless times but guess where they login when they want arenas? That's right, AP Horde. Jumping ship was a short sighted reactionary choice and the result is nothing but random queues for you and sporadic events for us. Get the fuck over it and ignore someone ingame if you are so distressed by what they say. Splitting up DOES NOT WORK with a limited community.

tl;dr reroll/return to AP or gtfo

PS Hash this is a general @ response, I'm not attacking you individually.

This. It's really frustrating to finally see a thread promoting something instead of the normal "omg is my guy BiS" or a troll thread, then come in here and people are just bashing his grammar instead of talking about the issue at hand. They're specifically looking for feedback, not an English lesson.

But I also get the feeling that the US community, especially on Aerie Peak at least is more focused on endgame at the moment as well as a majority of people just solo que due to the ease and prefer having less of a hassle regarding organizing things like wargames etc.

Because people only twink in brackets where bg's pop and they abandon the others. Which is unfortunate.

Due to real world limitations I cannot take this shortcoming on in-game. I'm not going to spill the beans on my major ideas here. We need someone to volunteer to take on a big leadership role. I can do a lot to support you. You need to be on AP.

My post wasn't redundant. You saying the exact same thing as the guy above you was.

Cool. It's just sad to see good things buried with garbage. The other day we had a decent post about all the negative sigs people have now and it was just flamed to death and closed, for no reason. But @ threads and spam seem to be perfectly fine.

It is so obviously apparent that TI is not a suitable venue for reorganizing US events. Just look at the sort of dickering responses in this thread. People want to weigh in when they have nothing at all meaningful to contribute. The effort is diluted and squandered by people who want something to happen but are either to ill-equipped or afraid of the spotlight to actually do anything. I won't even exclude myself from that group. I don't know who I'm talking to or if you exist at all. If you are out there, I can help.

If there is not some singular person who can be the answer to our prayers maybe we can come together as a collective to fill that same role.

Sadly, no one knows what this is.

By my choice, I'm not going to throw it out there unless I'm confident in it's success. Until I can personally step up or have sufficient support I'm sitting on it.

You really only need 1 p2p to invite the 2 teams of 10, or what have you. Personally, i will assist and come to every premade scheduled i am able to. When we did HB's premades, there were more than plenty p2ps available and volunteering to invite ppl. One flaw was ppl not showing up (probably avg'd ~1 a night person missing), the only other flaw was que times. Que times are now fixed with wargames and since u only need to form one group for each team, that makes the cross-realm difficulties actually easier. The ppl not showing up part may always be apart of this type of event, shit comes up.

Perhaps not everyone has been following wargames as of late, but if u que 2 of the same factions, the gy's are generally fucked up. This may be a problem for some premades we organize, but in the past we did H v A every week, now should be just as easy.

The gate is open, there is near nothing except ourselves stopping wargame 10v10s from occuring. Lets make this thread beneficial, instead of whining about the past, or trying to correct and showup the poster before you. Its that easy

Licholas says roll AP. Exclusionary servers are wack and die; off-servers die like everything else, but the peak has lived on
