A more interesting development, I escorted the caravan again, and this time, in a group, and I got currency on my 85. Now, my 85 was not on the quest, and was not able to loot currency from anything else, so I don't see why 20s can't buy some of the novelty items. Also, both horde and alliance buy their novelty items from the same place in Durotar, a sanctuary, which reduces getting ganked.

I just confirmed that F2Ps can receive the four resources from escorting the caravan, and that it's surprisingly easy. I received Lumberx38 Stonex10 Oilx6 and Meatx10 for a single escort. I don't think you have to be grouped, altho I was grouped with my 90 that had not done any of the quests. While escorting you acquire stacks of that buff, and when you get to the destination everyone is awarded [Surplus Supplies] that contain the resources. I'm not sure if you get more resources if you hold more stack of the buff at the end (that would make sense), but I think you only have to be there at completion to receive the award. Caravans can be spotted on the zone map when there are any, but don't appear on map screen of F2P. Good luck farming!!

I haven't seen or tried the escort yet. Can you describe how we do it? Is it like that horde barrens quest where we sit on the back of the varavan and shoot people who start to follow with the caravans weapon?

Also I assume we can't get the pet since we need a mojo?

Do the caravans have a daily or can you do like 12318726 in a day? Cause I want that flute drum and shrinker lol.

Edit: and can I solo it as a f2p?

The caravan is a group of 3 Astranaar Caravan Leaders, a Pack Kodo and 4 Pack Mules. It is constantly being ambushed by Kor'kron Caravan Raiders. It is not part of a quest or daily, and can be repeated multiple times. I'm not sure what event spawns the caravans, but they are visible on the map on my level 90 (but NOT on my F2P). If you can see the other Battleground: Barrens targets (such as the commanders) then you will see caravans too when they spawn.

Now you only need to stay close enough to receive stacks of the buff. Avoid dying or you will lose the buff (altho often you will still have enough time to run back and get credit). You must be there at the completion with stacks (not sure how many) to receive the Surplus Supplies. It's definitely soloable at 20, but it would greatly help to have a P2P friend tell you where the caravans spawn.

To escort you just stand near the caravan. If you have someone killing the raiders, it's easy. Yes, you get more resources if you have more stacks. It's not soloable because the raiders will one shot you. Also, you must be 90 to see where the caravans are, and someone to fly you will save time.

It's not soloable per se, but if there's already a group of 90s escorting you can just keep a safe distance and follow. Yes, it's a lot easier with a P2P to transport you around.

The body shrinker has 3 min duration, but in the time you are slowed by 80%, and you deal 99% less damage - so its perfect for healers, but not so useful for damage dealers. I wonder if we can use it with flag on wsg

Any idea how frequently they respawn? No word anywhere on wowhead that I could find on the avg timers. Can there be 2 going at the same time or is it 1 per zone? Also can we loot the crates from the overturned caravans and still get the resources? I'm more interested in those vanity items now then the bag lol..

Yes, I confirmed it by buying one of the one-time use items that only cost 10 resources.

I would agree they spawn randomly, probably on average every 15-20 minutes. Without knowing where the caravan spawned, you would have a small chance of finding it in-time. Best bet is to group up with a P2P that can see them on their map. As suggested, a raid group could be formed to help F2Ps locate the caravans (great use for /f2pi fish).

ok i see what was going wrong with the vendor... i tried doing it on horde, where to get the vendor to appear a 90 quest must be completed first, so its phased for horde, whereas alliance its automatically there. i guess horde f2p cant get anything unless bend somehow works out another phased zone glitch.

Did you check both Razor HIll and Sen'jin? I think the vendor starts in Sen'jin for Horde, it might require the quest for it to be phased there too though.

OK, so this JUST IN. You can get stacks of the buff and the reward even as a ghost!! You just need to follow someone in the group to stay nearby the caravan. Lil discovered this by accident while corpse running. Also more info on the buff, it gets applied about every 35 seconds and can stack up to 9 times.

If you are a 90 please help with the escort especially near the beginning when few if any people have shown up. The F2Ps can literally just follow as a ghost all the way to destination.

EDIT: Another update - LOOK OUT FOR ANNOUNCEMENTS (e.g. "An Alliance caravan needs to be escorted out of Thorn Hill!") I see a lot more caravans announced than I see just on the map. Use the map Lil posted to find the locations announced.

This is too hard , the bag got a 0.3% chance on random mob and 1.4% on another not random mob!
U need a lv 90 character to helpya too !!
